Hunting in Red Dead Redemption 2 Is A Pain In The A**

Hunting was pretty fun. Only bad part is the horse can only hold one big pelt. My only difficulty was hunting real small animals that run. I never looked up what bullets are for what. Sometimes I don't get perfect belt if I use Varmint rifle for those.

I use them; I just don't go looking for small critters to hunt. It's just a pain to equip them when riding. I end up trampling the critters by accident

I understand but from what I'm picking up, you dont get why you aren't achieving perfect pelt/quality with the varmint rifle.

Go to Big Valley. There's always a few heards of whitetails, proghorns, or elk running around, and usually they have one or two 3 stars in their ranks. And like others have said, get that legendary whitetail trinket.

Use the tracking to look for animals.

Use the knife, gives a clean kill

Rope em with the lasso and knife em

Sometimes the animal is too strong to rope though,thrn use the bow
