Hunt vs Mir: Early Call ?

I think it was ok but I would have been ok with the fight going a little longer too.

ready to grab the fairies and goblins.

Goddard would stop the thread here. Though it may continue for a few brutal pages for the entertainment of the fans, it is for all intents and purposes finished here.

What Mir was thinking.....

That is a point maybe he knew he was done or maybe he's not one to whine and
get Hunt to hate him when theyre buddying up. Maybe he knows he's not taking hits like he's used to... I meam I not one to endorse unnecessary brain damaging beatings (forgive me JBJ @Thrawn33 )

Im meant to say the judging in MMA is horribly inconsistent and this went against the rules. Look at Stipe vs Hunt, they let that go on WAAAAY too long and then this is instant stoppage. Even on the same card the Lombart fight was two bad calls.

It's when a fighter is no longer able to "intelligently defend" himself, this means knocking someone down is not a KO unless they lose all control of their limbs and Rashad out. He didn't fall in a Rashad-face way where all control was lost, he fell back right into guard position with his neck still up.

Mir seemed phased but defending himself. Ppl say he looked out fo it but he's been in these situations before a pulled off a sub.

And those that are saying he wasn't looking at Hunto are incorrect, in the GIF his face turns to watch him walk off.
He has, but if Hunt told the ref to stand him up in that moment, Frank wouldn't have been able to get up.

the ref looked at mir and gave him a chance to move or do something and he didnt want any part of hunt, scared as fuck

Dont call Frank scared you tool. He was in there. Now - he definetly had his bell rang, and the fight was over. He was some things, but scared wasnt one of them.

Mir wouldn't have subbed shit, he got his BJJ bb out of a Wheaties box and Hunto's purple belt BJJ is a lot fucking better than Mir's ever has been. He catches the occasional lucky sub, like Nogueira, but other than that what's he done? Doesn't hold his own on the ground at all.
Weak troll attempt. Boo this man.

Not complaining here, as turtling is my #1 biggest pet peeve with MMA and I can't Fing stand that it is NOT interpreted as a submission. With that said, if you can't hit a fighter in the back of the head, neck and spine when they expose their back to their opponent, you shouldn't be allowed to get away with it standing.

Retarded as the F'd up rules are, Mir placed the back of his head into harms way and CLEARLY got tagged in the back of the head (illegal strike) by Mark Hunt. This should have been a DQ by pure definition of the rule.

Can anyone deny that the punch was NOT to the illegal mohawk zone? Again I agree with the stoppage and the result, just need to see the same on the ground! Turtling = submission loss!

I love Mir with all my MMA heart, but he was frozen in time. Hunto ghosted him, & then walked away like a gentleman. Goddard is the best ref in the game.
Same, big Mir fan. But, looking at the replay, especially the bird\s eye view one, he got shook with that punch and I didn't want to see him take any more unneccessary damage
