I'd like to think that this is something that should be concerning to us as American citizens, similar to pardoning Sheriff Joe, regardless of our political affiliations.

Put aside the fact that it's Trump, don't you think that our politicians should be held to the same legal standards that we are?

I'm pretty sure former prosecutors on news channels other than Fake News FOX News said repeatedly attempted obstruction is a crime just like attempted bank robbery, attempted murder, etc. Success or not is irrelevant.

Everyone cares. It just so happens that everyone's position on caring about such things reverses every four to eight years. No, I was unaware, but I would think the IRS would go after him if that was the case - I doubt they would be waiting for Trump to publicly release them to charge him with something.

But don't get me wrong, I'm very aware of the games people play with their taxes - and just like the penal code, tax legislation is written by a small group of people in order to primarily benefit themselves, and even when they directly violate some aspect of law, it's ambiguous enough that they can weasel their way out of it.

Maybe he shouldn't have - I was under the impression that the investigation has produced some legitimate convictions - so that alone seems like it was warranted.

When you get past all the sniffling and crying and outrage...the United States is doing just fine economically and otherwise. No quotes from 2005 taken out of context is going to change that.
