There's still a compelling fight between him and Masvidal that they can set up, as well as a possible rematch with Usman further down the road. He was factually even with Usman on the score cards going into round 5, it was a razor close fight and save for the last 120 seconds, he very likely could be world champion today.

He pieced up Usman plenty of times and doesn't need anything like 2 years to develop. He could make minor adjustments and run that back in 6 months.

Its bananas how you think going 2-2 against the world champion, just prior to a hail mary controversial TKO in the last minute, means you need years to develop.
