How would Tito Ortiz do against Jon Jones if they fought today at LHW?

Prime Tito Ortiz had solid wrestling and a great chin. His chances wouldn't be good at all since Jon Jones is a better wrestler.

Current Tito knocks out jones imo.

If a middleweight journeyman beat jones, current Tito would.

Tito would have beat jony had he got past rashad. Tito was on a hot streak but matched up bad vs evans.
Jones got lucky imo....

Probably takes Jon down and jacks him up with elbows from inside the guard.

Tbh Tito is a bad matchup for Jones(large wrestler) and he'd probably surprise people by not getting killed. In like 2010 or 2011 maybe could have went the distance. But yeah he'd have no chance, no way for him to realistically finish the fight(especially nowadays).

People forget how close this fight was to actually happening when Tito almost subbed Shad.

Well. Tito has a history of beating up undersized MW and old people. He was a significant person for the ufc at a dark time but his resume is not very impressive. He brings no weapons to threaten great wrestlers with good chins. Weak stand up, low out put, little power, no special bottom game and inferior wrestling makes this a hard match for Tito. Barring freak injury or lucky punch there really is no path to victory for him.

It’d be like Jon fighting his little brother by just pinning him down and playfully hitting him as a red faced Tito squirms and yells for mom.

Tito by utilizing his underrated submission game.

no version of Tito would beat Jones... Tito is just taking easy fights now, washed up Chuck Liddell and he's about to fight a pro wrestler. Honestly, I don't see any of the old LHWs beating Jones.... Tito, Chuck, Wand, any of them beating Jones.

tito has heavier hands so he could get the ko for sure.
Jon jones has a great chin . If u asked me tito got like .5% chance o knocking jones in 100 fights sorry

Tito would get the Sonnen treatment, if he's lucky.

I see even Tito has admitted he was wrong. Close thread!

Lets pluck prime Tito from late 90s early 2000s and Let’s butterfly effect this...

With no Tito, Ken shamrock returns to WWE after he rehabs his knee because there isn’t a lucrative rivalry in the ufc. He never has his MMA comeback, never has his pride run, and stays a solid midcarder in the WWE. because UFC doesn’t get as popular during his run he doesn’t get the clout Brock lesner gets and doesn’t get their title.
Randy never spanks his ass in mid match but likely still gets his hands on a LHW title. His rivalry with chuck doesn’t have as much luster because their back story doesn’t include Tito Ortiz drama.
Tito’s rivalries with chuck and shamrock were some of the most lucrative in the company’s history. Without their income when the organization was financially struggling and pride’s popularity not really dependent of any Tito rivalry, the outcome of the mma war between pride and ufc may be different. However, with no Tito, that means wand doesn’t lose to Tito and possibly can get his hands on ufc’s LHW title before going to pride, and thus rob pride of arguably its biggest star so who actually knows how the ufc/pride war could have ended. In the UFC Wand can have rivalries with randy and chuck, and we could get prime chuck vs prime wand, but the match won’t ever be “superfight” levels since in this non-Tito reality the fight could possible happen, but if both are in the UFC only one likely becomes a mega star. Actually butterflying effecting the timeline like this, I can’t predict where UFC and Jones would be in the period of prime Jones.
However, let’s just pluck prime Tito from his era and place in in prime jone’s era with no butterfly effect... Jones probably subs tito after fucking him up.

Tito made some comments.

Not sure if Tito would stand a chance, but surely it would be interesting to watch...

During Tito's prime? maybe that's a good question.
Nowadays? No, it wouldn't be interesting at all.

Today? Jones wins 99 times outta 100.

Prime for prime? Maybe jones wins 80 times out of a 100
you think Tito wins 1/5 fights against Jones, prime for prime? damn that's pretty generous
