How would the Hendricks who fought GSP fare against the current top 5?

Im hoping this doesnt just descend into GSP and Hendricks fans going at it but I was watching the fight again the other day and regardless of who I think won, either way Hendricks put in a great performance that night.

Prime Hendricks, (USADA rumours aside Sherdoggers) had great power and great wrestling and it got me wondering how would he fare against the guys today?

I think him/Usman is a really intriguing match up, hes one of the few guys Usman would struggle to wrestle with and the same with Colby.

Im not sure if Hendricks of 2012/13 would win the belt but I definitely think hed be a mainstay in the top 3-5.

How would you rate his chances against:

    - Usman
    - Covington
    - Burns
    - Masvidal
    - Edwards

He beats all of them. Prime Hendricks was the most complete WW of all time

Not sure if he'd make weight, considering IVs are banned.

If he did however, he'd probably do fairly good against all welterweights.

    Well, almost all welterweights...

Ignoring the elephant in the room, he'd most likely be champion.

2012 Johny Hendricks was astoundingly good.

Then 2015 Johny ate a few flyweights and all the shitty food at his steakhouse on one cheat day.

It is his arm stuffed in his shirt, and his face looks rough because he just left the hospital after a surgery. But he looks so hilariously fat.

You can see it better here:

Hendricks pre USADA is a good enough wrestler to neutralize the other grapplers and honestly will probably defensively wrestler and keep the fight standing with every fighter except Masdival. He has better striking that Usman, Colby, Burns maybe Edwards. He'd probably KO each.

Against Masdival, Masdival would get double legged across the cage and then pounded into unconsciousness.

He beat GSP and thats a hill I will die on.

won round 1, won the fight.

Everyone loves to blame USADA and the IV ban as the reason for Hendricks massive spiraling downfall. And sure those are likely pretty big factors. But I would dare guess getting screwed out of a title against not just GSP, but also Lawler EVEN MORE BLATANTLY just fucking broke him mentally.

He shouldn't stick his head in-between another man's legs and keep it there for almost an entire round.

To be real he did get screwed in the second Robbie fight. I thought Robbie won the first fight though.

From memory, without going and rewatching both those Robbie fights could have gone either way for either guy.

I know one fight I scored for Robbie and another I had Hendricks, all Robbie did was win round 5 in one with a big flurry at the end.

Couldn't tell you which fight was which though.

He couldn't get past a battle worn and bad knees GSP on steroids, I think he would do terribly. Even if he won, it would be over turned after he failed the usada testing.

I like watching Robbie as a fighter but he won 2 vital decision that he shouldn't have. Condit and Hendricks 2

Poor guy goes from arguably beating GSP in the performance of his life to getting ko’d by a porn actor in bkfc.

Yeah the Condit one was rank.

However personally I enjoy Robbie/Condit as a fight more than Robbie/Rory.

Pre USADA Hendricks would fare very well against all of the above. His wrestling would negate Edwards, Usman, Colby and he KO's them all. Masvidal and Burns would be more interesting as Hendricks didn't use he wrestling offensively all that much and he would stand with Burns and Masvidal giving them both a better chance due to style. He still likely beats them both.
