Gus(who I think he beat first time around) and Glover haven't looked great recently so I wouldn't rule him out there although I wouldn't pick him, Rumble, Jones and Cormier? unlikely beyond a small chance of landing an early bomb.

Don't read too much int his recent win, he fought against a guy with basically no head movement and was literally standing there. Gian took a lot of shots, and Shogun got a very good win. It really was impressive. However he loses to the top 5 guys, easily.

If the match makers were kind, they would give him Glover Teixeira. Glover has had holes in his game for a couple years now. He would have the best chance of the top 5 guys here. He would also have a puncher's chance against Johnson - only because Johnson would stand with Shogun even if it turned into a war. It would be a brawl. Shogun is not the athletic and explosive fighter he was in his prime. His knee injuries has sapped him of his crazy kicks. New MMA fans that I watch with only think he's a stand up brawler with brains. Right now, I can't disagree with them.
