Heres the thing that most of you are forgetting. Sage Northcutt is in the UFC. The premiere organization for MMA. Realistically if your in the organization your supposed to be the cream of the crop. Doesn't make sense to be in the UFC and not be working your way up the ladder. The time for development was before joining the UFC.

This. He fights exactly the right opponents, that's simply his level.
Just the hype train was a bit out of control but I feel after seeing him fight a couple of times most people adjusted to reality.
