People overrate 2017 version of Lawler way too much.

Too warn torn, getting there in age.

Mike Perry first round KO

Easiest match up for him in the top 5 imo

Only 26 years old and had a close war with a more dangerous, younger, eye poking Pinocchio.

Lawler would probably still win a decision via experience and better skillz.

WAR LAWLER

I can dig that

I think lawler needs a break after that beat down he took tho

Imagine a 26 year old lawler vs Perry tho

JUST BLEED OR DIE TRYING

Perry has been beaten soundly by a sub top 15 guy and recently by a fringe top 10 guy. Who is actually dumb enough to think he could hang with a top 3 fighter? He would literally get murdered.

Watching him get beaten in his last fight, it's clear he has had zero evolution since his loss to Jouban. At this age, fighters like Max Holloway and Robert Whittaker are continuously improving and evolving.

The only thing that got Perry through his last loss was a granite chin.

He is entertaining to watch but unless he evolves (and soon), he will likely stay where he is, a tough gatekeeper that likes to bang.

I don't know.

Lawler would have put this man to sleep just a couple years ago, but the mileage is really kicking in now and I think Lawler may have hit that proverbial "father time" wall.

I think it's still pretty close and could go either way, but 'gun to my head' I'd favor Perry slightly at this point.

BTW both Ponzi and RDA are super legit opponents, so I don't necessarily consider either of those a "bad loss". The only thing that stuck out to me with Lawler was the lethargic nature of his performance. He just didn't do much of anything noteworthy, which is unusual and alarming for him.

Lawler would maul him. Not hating on Perry at all, Lawler just operates at a higher level.

Perry isn't that fast, he telegraphs his shots, and he leaves himself open.

Lawler would have the most diverse skill set he's seen on the feet. Perry would lose to Lawler both at range and especially in the clinch. His fight with Ponz showed that he still isn't very comfortable with his back to the cage. And Lawler is not the dude you want pushing you into the cage.

At range, Perry's willingness to do telegraphed ducks while trying to land right hands would be the end of him.

It would be fun while it lasted, but Lawler would win via actually being a good fighter.

Robbie looks softer since usada

current Lawler gets KO's by Perry

Jesus. Robbie is a crafty vet and tough as nails. I would not like Perrys odds in this one. Only the very top guys are going to beat Robbie, and Mike isn't there yet.

It still wouldn't stop Perry from taking the fight, but the boy needs to find a camp and hone his craft.

Robbie is still Robbie.

Yeah he is older and USADA blahblahblah but he is FAR from done.

Perry has a puncher's chance against ANYONE.

That said, I would pick Lawler, because he is a better FIGHTER.

Sherdorks need to give it up. I think Perry's biggest win like 60th or something. Guy might become a fringed ranked fighter some day, but clearly not today.

Lawler by decision

29-28

Takes 1st n 3rd n gives perry 2nd

Lawler will knock him out, Perry has next to no defense and will get caught.
