How would have won if they fought in their Prime?

Masvidal or Tony Ferguson? I'd say probably Masvidal if we talking about both being in their Peak. Tony might be scary when it goes to the ground but i doubt the fight would have even went much on the ground. Masvidal would have outboxed Tony.

Tony. Masvidal was never as good as Tony was in Tony's best 3 years.
On a side note, WTF does that read so weird?

Tony

Don't get me wrong, Masvidal was a good fighter and the bulk of his losses were by narrow decisions before he became a much more aggressive fighter looking for the finish but Tony's peak was a lot higher than Masvidal's.

Probably Tony actually. His style would have been a nightmare for younger Mas imo. Mas wanted kickboxing matches, prime Ferguson was a weirdo coming at you from all angles and looking to fight close.

Interesting fight for sure, both dudes are legendary.

I think Masvidal was the better athlete and more technical fighter but he always gave away rounds with his low volume and lacked urgency. Tony was the opposite, wild, aggressive, tenacious. They both had good cardio and similar frames.

I guess I'd pick the Tony that beat RDA over any LW version of Masvidal but I think it'd be competitive. I definitely feel like Jorge had a lot more potential though.

Ferguson takes this one IMO by decision. I think the pace and volume gives Masvidal issues.

How?

Probably by decision.

Both dudes are tough to finish.

Masvidal beats him like Gaethje did

Hard to say. Both guys have fought at both 155 and 170lbs, but Tony was definitely at his best at LW while Masvidal was best at WW. I guess it would depend on the weight-class, as Tony would be too fast for Mas at 155 and Mas would be too big/powerful for Tony at 170.

However, if we're talking who would win in a fantasy match-up if both guys were in their peak form and at similar weights, I'd pick Tony. Masvidal was great back in the day, but Tony at his best was someone special.

I have no reason to believe a Prime Tony couldn't have taken everything a Prime LW Masvidal could throw at him, grin, and give it back two fold.

I got Ferg on this fantasy matchup.

I see it play out like Ferg vs Pettis (and imma big Pettis fan, and was rooting for him). Too much pressure, volume, and that man seemed to love getting hit.

This is the right answer. Masvidal has always been a passive style fighter trying to barely win on points. He never had any urgency or trying to make a real statement in his fights. He fights more aggressively now though, but his punching power isn't really there. He got Till, but he wasn't really knocking or finishing fighters before that. Askren was a jumping knee that Askren level changed into. Ferguson was finishing people and breaking people with his pressure and volume. Prime for prime Ferguson most likely would have broke Masvidal as well.
