How would Douglas Lima do in the UFC?

His striking is top tier. He has amazing leg kicks and punches. Just amazing muay thai. The best in the division.

He used to get beaten because his defensive wrestling wasn't the best. That's how Rory won their first fight. He's mostly fixed that hole now. It showed in how he just completely shut down Rory's game and dominated him a few months ago. He lost to Ben Askren several years ago. He'd tear him up now though. He likely has the best wrestling in the entire 170 lb division after Colby and Usman now.

He's like a bigger and scarier prime Jose Aldo now. He has the same skillset and ferocity.

He would beat the shit out of Colby and Jorge. Colby would get torn up on the feet. Jorge would get picked apart at long range or taken down and worn out. Usman is the only guy that could put up a tough fight but eventually his cardio would wear out a bit. Then Lima would start tearing him up.

He would be close to top 5, or make in there even I think. Colby is not a good matchup tho, Lima ain't no Usman on the feet and he is 100% going to wrestle. His wrestling defence has improved but I don't think it's enough to deal with Usman's or Colby's wrestling. But he would do very well, he's so good right now.
 
Better than Ben, but Colby, Usman would be game competition.
 
Doesn't beat Usman or Colby, potential banger of a fight with Masvidal, top 5 but wouldn't be champ.
 
Hard to say. Lima was layed on by Ben Askren but that fight was 8 years ago.

Lima's last fights were Rory, MVP, Koreshkov, Daley, and Larkin. None of those dudes have wrestling pedigrees that Usman or Covington possess. Only contender in Bellator that could provide Lima with a real wrestling challenge is Jon Fitch and he's old.

Its kinda like the GSP/Diaz comparisons back in the Strikeforce days. Nick Diaz could have beat all the Cyborgs, Zaromskis, and Daleys of the world, but none of those fights said anything about how he would fare against Georges St Pierre. I think this is a similar situation. No way of knowing until we see Lima in the UFC.
 
Top five, most likely a title contender. Usman and Colby are awful fights for everybody though, including each other


Still wouldn’t rule Lima out against anybody though, he’s the real deal
 
Would love to see Gamebred vs Lima.

He's a great fighter, would easily be a top 5 guy in the UFC.
 
Just like any typical Bellator champ coming to UFC. He'll be a gatekeeper or top 3 and if lucky maybe win a belt with no defense ala Alvarez.

But I don't see him beating Usman for the belt.

This is the fight to make, everyone else would hug him and dive for legs to wear him out

Doubt hes top 5 honestly. Usman bears him with ease. As does Colby.

Ben lost to maia because its a bad matchup, masvidal was pure luck, askren is top 3 in the division
