I'm talking about Randy of 2003-2004 where he was ragdolling big LHW's like Chuck/Tito down, Randy was a monster at 205lb, a bigger better version of Hendo as a grappler.

I don't think Cormier would toss Randy around.

Cormier is still the better wrestler. He could also keep the fight standing and wreck Randy on the feet.

Agreed. Don't see where Randy has the advantage. Cormier is like Randy 2.0, just a little bit better at everything.

Randy was a stud in his time, but given the evolution of the sport, Cormier is ahead of Couture.

Mike Van Arsdale was the better wrestler as well and that turned out to be one of the sickest wrestling displays in an MMA fight.. love that fight.. Randy's boxing was legit too..

If it was Cormier of now vs the best version of Randy it's hard RI say. Randy HW losses tended to be where he couldn't bully and typically where he was giving up a big weight advantage. He'd eventually lose his steam then get bullied.

Randy was an excellent game planner so a lot of it would depend on him figuring out an unexpected way of beating DC. Randy would run a camp for that strategy.

I'd favor DC, but can't count the best Randy out

    I think you're dead wrong.

Couture got beat up by every HW grappler he ever fought, not named Gonzaga.

Cormier I think here....more speed and power and a more dynamic striker. Randy would do well in the clinch game but I see Cormier winning everything else

Randy would be more competitive vs DC than Fedor would be but he would ultimately be finished by strikes. DC probably wouldn't even try to wrestle Couture, even though he would handle him rather easil in that department.

Randy might be able to hold him against the fence and dirty box him, but DC wins 9/10 times.

    He's just... better.

As much as i like Randy i honestly don't see where he'd have more success against DC then Hendo did.

Basically what we just watched without the slam. I think it would have just been more of a positional fight. Maybe something similar to Cormier/Mir or Nelson beating him up on the cage.

He did beat Randleman, but I guess you're right he was losing that fight for the first 3 rounds till Randleman got tired..

    I said LHW though.

Why would it matter? Cormier is undefeated at HW and beat the breaks off every HW he ever fought.

He seems to be doing the same at LHW so far as well.

True. but at LHW we haven't seen him pushed.. Randy would have tested him, he put a pace on guys.
