I've heard the backstory about why Dana wouldn't likely let him back in, but how would do against today's roster?
His skill set, even the 2001-2003 version, looks pretty respectable. His wins against a ripped Arlovski and Couture still look good.
Heck, an out-of-shape version of Ricco lost a close split decision in 2008 to Bigfoot Silva.
Then again, Wikipedia shows him at 205 these days. If heavyweight wasn't even his natural fighting weight, that almost makes some of those old wins look even better.
