I'm a pretty competitive person. I've always played sports growing up and even my career now is considered competitive. I guess you can say, competition has always been a big part of my life. The bad part of that is I don't taking losing too well. Don't get me wrong, I'm typically a good sport about everything, but it can certainly kill my mood for a few hours. How about you? How do you handle competition and how well do you deal with losing?

When I was little I would freak out if I lost at anything. Ive learned to handle it as an adult but I still dont like it..

I usually deal with it pretty well and try to remove myself from the competition when I notice I am getting mad/frustrated. Some people play better pissed off, but I am not one of them. You can learn a lot in a loss if you aren't seeing red mist.

    My biggest flaw.

I hate losing more than just about anything. Doesn't matter at what either... Could be sports, games, etc. I'm far and away the most competitive person I know. I pride myself on being a chill, nice guy... But once something becomes a competition I become extremely invested in winning at all costs. This has lead to issues in the past, so I never compete with people I know at anything.

    Sounds ridiculous... and it is.

Pretty good. I have never been great at really anything in life so I have had to deal with my fair share of losses.

I hate when people get angry and try and pick fights in a pick up game, those people need Jesus

Depends on who I lose to. When I win I win with class. Winning usually doesn't mean much to me but the feeling of losing is awful. Sometimes yeah I can take losing bad

My younger cousin wanted to box with gloves. I didn't really want to because I felt like if I won it would mean nothing but if I lost well I couldn't let that happen. Luckily we never went through with it though. I would have went 110% on him

I don't mind losing, but I hate being terrible at things.

Consequently, I rarely try new sports/hobbies.

I'm right there with you. Only exception is if I already know I'm going to be bad at something. Like say, chess. I know I'm decent, but against an exceptional player, I almost go in knowing I'm going to lose already. But if I expect to win, then I go in full force.

As long as I give it everything I have I do not mind losing. If I do not though I can be a bit hard on my self.

The one exception to this rule is online gaming where I get dominated by better players or cheaters which pisses me right the heck off.

If I'm playing madden, and get beat then it usually means its time to replace the controller.
Losing at pickup ball is mild brooding. If I lose at chess I curse all pantheons.

Iost the marriage game and didn't handle it well at all. Spent a few months in the garden of earthly delights after she amputated herself from me... I needed to show her I didn't miss her, or the sex or the homemade perogies and cabbage rolls...or the peaceful gentle quiet in a cuddle...or the smell of her hair...her somber eastern European pogrom-colored eyes.....(oh god why?)
Everything else I'm pretty socially competent at dealing with.

Let's settle this like men: a fight, skateboard comp, or some 1980s hybrid of the two. Basically all I'm willing to compete in

    Pretty much this all day.

I'm building a foundry outside of my house right now (really small one) for really basic metalsmithing and I plan on making some chess pieces out of aluminum when I can finally sort the molds.
