How was Japan able to invade China when they are way smaller than china?

Japan was the first Asian country to industrialize itself. While it was geographically smaller, its economic output was much greater than China's since the 1920's. China had not fully embrace industrialization until the Communist had taken over after WWII.

Politically as well China was a mess still, the KMT didn't really have full control of the country with a lot of dependence on alliances with warlords plus the civil war with the communists.

This guy distracted them

who is he i see him everywhere now

Not the only time something like that has happened, Pizzaro conquered the Incas with a couple hundred men at most, Cortez conquered the Aztecs, etc.

If you watch Japanese porn you'll know that they can stop time. It's fucking EZ win for these guys.

As successful as the Japanese were China did end up being rather like Russia to the Germans, they'd hoped to force a surrender in a few months and some territorial gains but they ended up locked in a war that last years and took up most of their resources.

The same reason people from the British isles took over the world.

They are just tougher and meaner.

Every japanese was piloting a Gundam

They sent you to China and attacked while you were confusing chinese people with your stupid questions.

I thought it was because Japan had a trained military force while China did not. You see that in other conflicts were a trained force can overcome a larger force that is disorganized.

Because after 1856 Japan set out on a nationwide modernization project to emulate the super powers of the world at that time, and transform their country from the 16th century to the 19th century technology wise whereas China never did. So by the time 1930 rolled around Japan had a much more modernized military whereas China still had an outdated one allowing the Japanese to steam roll the Chinese.

Here is a picture of Chinese soldiers in ww2 armed with swords:

That's like the Polish Cavalry vs the Luftwaffe!

What Sohei said...Japan and China back then were both very arrogant in terms of how they saw westerners, however after both respectively getting their asses kicked the Japanese smartened up a lot quicker and started adopting western technology and organisational practices in the mid 19th century (after the shelling of Edo by Commodore Matthew Perry - not the guy from Friends) while the Chinese went on believing that Westerners were dumb barbarians for another 60 years.

The Chinese only really wised up after the overthrow of the Qing Dynasty and the creation of the Republic of China in 1911, but at that point they were light years behind Japan in terms of military effectiveness and industrial output.

I remember on Mayberry when this movie came out that the modern day equivalent to these motherfuckers is/was the Taliban and people got all upset.
Well I mean because that’s not really true at all

To this day the Chinese teach to hate the Japanese according to a few people I know that's from China.

This is legit ture.

Japan, unlike the Germans, have not taken responsibility for their shit either.
