A short video containing a few helpful and useful tips on working the heavy bag. Any striker can apply these techniques mma, boxer, kickboxer etc....

Do work!

i alwyas followed tysons doctrine on the heavybag, every combination is 100% speed and power and i switch angle on my footwork after every combination.. this is what i recommend..

Force the knockout and don't get it, lose the decision! I like going fast and hard as well but power tends to be slower and more telegraphed while speed sets up for the kill....!!!!

it's pretty quick and fluid brah

I think the heavy bag is the safest way to train power. I don't agree with ONLY training power on the heavy bag, but I definitely think you should throw some power EVERY time.

I'm surprised at how often he falls over or tips back on his heels when slipping right after the combinations. There really was a bit of a balance deficit there.

Goes to show that even when you do it for a living and spend all day training...that things sometimes won't come out perfectly. Always something to work.

As far as bag hitting, you can do everything with 100% speed and power, and it can be done fluidly. It's good for training, builds cardio, builds power. In a fight, you don't always want to hit every single shot with 100% speed and power because not every shot is always intended to land cleanly. Some are designed for opening up and getting around the defensive bubble and to create openings elsewhere.

Yeah because it's not like Tyson was the champ and badly knocking out people who were much bigger and older when he was only 19. You can tell it totally wasn't working for him.

On video:
I think the "most advanced" takeaway from this was talking about how people don't respect treating the bag as a person in a live situation and fall asleep while they're still inside strike range. I see it all the time, I still do it sometimes... always good to be reminded not to do this.

Also, I see how your video was actually a playlist that rolled right into your program (plug). Very clever, sir William.

That's what most video's are on youtube...advertising.

Some guys make good money on youtube with product endorsements. They get popular enough and have enough followers, advertisers will provide free product sometimes and payment for good "reviews" of their products.

I never knew that until I got back into firearms. Youtube is rampant with "experts" who are reviewing products.

We all know the real experts appear in the comment boxes below.
