Dana made the UFC the billion dollar company it is. Must be kinda smart.. Just an opinion and we have all made poor predictions...part of why MMA is fun to watch.

It's to be expected, in about a week he was probably going to start pushing Mighty Mouse P4P #1, really will push anyone besides Jones or GSP because the crowd already knows they are awesome, anyone else he's going to overtalk before their PPV.

First of all P4P is a pure work of the imagination. It's an opinion (who ranks the highest) about an opinion (if weight were no consideration and only ability mattered). We're not talking about a commonly known fact or a clearly idiotic idea that someone keeps acting on.

Second, HE'S A PROMOTER, it's his job to hype the fight. He goes out and tells people why they should care.

Third it was a common notion before this fight that Barao was at least in the conversation for being at the top of P4P, at least by many educated fans estimation.

So Barao gets beat and that means Dana looks stupid? Wow. You have low standards and a ton of hate for Dana.

It's pretty childish to have such glee over something so irrelevant, especially when there were so many people who thought the fight would go the other way.

And by the way he now has a much more marketable champion so he's laughing all the way to the bank.

Just like when people said "Dana went full retard" ... nope, for Dana that is just average retard... it is all about context and precedent.

Listen, when you just get done not only promoting the guy as one of the best ever and ripping on people for believing (which was true) that he had some marketability issues because his insane skill inside the cage would be enough for "real" fight fan and pushing him as the p4p best, it's a little funny when the next thing that happens is an 8 to 1 underdog thoroughly whips him for 4.5 half rounds and then finishes him.

To quote one of only two good movies by Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore

Yes he had a job to do and yes most people didn't see this coming either. It still is funny. And had one of us been out there pushing the same hype because it is our job it still would have been funny. Although most people probably be smarter than to pretend there are not marketability issues and rip on anybody that wasn't nuts for Barao. But still, it's funny. Lighten up. And THEN, claims he wasn't surprised by it! Wasn't surprised an 8 to 1 underdog not only beat but destroyed his p4p best?! Come on. That's just pure idiocy due to pride. TJ and his camp were probably the only people that thought it was possible and I doubt even some of them thought to this degree.

I was asking before this why MM isn't considered the p4p best considered his speed and KO power along with being well-rounded (wrestling, BBJ, and striking), continuing to improve, going for finishes when a UD is wrapped up and fights the best guys available while having a gas tank that won't quit.

With that said, most people won't give a shit and after this fiasco, maybe it is time to simply stop pushing anyone as the p4p best when anybody can lose their next fight. P4P best should be like GOAT, you look back after and decide based on the totality of results and through comparison to his/her peers
 
whats your point? Barao was in the top3 p4p easily, with Jones and Aldo. he lost, so he isn't anymore. everyone can lose, if Jones gets knocked out in his next fight, does that mean he never was one of the best pound for pound?

If they just tell everyone who is actually the #1 P4P fighter in the world (and it's been the same guy for many years now), they will have no more problems.

If they go with Jones, they're going to have problems right off the bat because Gus, and DC could very well beat him. Or at the very least make him look human.

NOBODY is going to beat Aldo for a long time, and he also happens to have the best all around skill set in MMA.

So they should probably get on that.

But I think Dana's hard on for Aldo may be too much for him to muster the words.

Relax fanboy, I was pointing out how ridiculous he looks. He keeps changing his mind all the time and he was selling people the delusional idea of Barao being no1 p4p and that was a pretty dumb shit to say. We can't take him seriously at all, and that is not a good thing for the sport considering he's the president of the biggest mma organization as of now.
