So I went to a new supplement/nutrition shop while working today, I guess it was 3rd day open, their 'Grand Opening' week. So I mostly went in to see how much Muscle Milk sells for, I like to help the local guys and all but it was really expensive so I was about to move on. Dude comes over, a rep for a distribution company and tells me to draw a card and profers a deck for me. I pull a 3 of hearts with a picture of Cytogainer on it and lo and behold I win a 6lb tub, vanilla flavored. So I'm reading the label, one serving 580 cals, 54gs of protein, some carbs and fats and stuff, buncha vitamins and all that. Says take 3 times a day! Seems like WAY too much... ??? Imean shit, that's a lot of cals and protein and carbs from just shakes, right? My question is, should I drink this stuff 3 times a day... it would only last a week like that, 18 servings in 6 lbs. I'm thinking it makes more sense to use it after my lift sessions, one serving per lift day. Not sure if this matters: I have an OK diet, eat usually 4times a day, decent food, mostly chicken and steak, whole wheat pasta with spinach or broccoli and spices <- most of my diet right there. Also try to eat at least a serving of fruit a day. I take Mega Man Multi, Fish Oil and usually Muscle Milk for extra protein. It lacks, but it is improving. I'm doing a 5x5, 3 days a week. It's free shit so I'd like to use it. Any thoughts?
I would say pwo since it has maltodextrin. I would just avoid the stuff altogether, way too much of a insulin shock for me
Am I in a bulking phase? As far as I know I'm not phasing at all! I'm not training to fight or compete in lifting or anything at all. I'm just trying to get stronger (and therefore bigger)
Iguess I'm just thinking this stuffs gonna throw bad weight on me as opposed to muscle. I'd like to avoid that if that's the case.
Bad weight is more so calories consumed versus expended through out the ENTIRE day more so than one meal. Granted I am pro low GI PWO, but one the less, this one product one time a day won't make or break anything.
Screw it, I'll just use it after workouts until it's gone. Probably just shoulda decided that an hour ago and saved some time, lol. Thanks for the responses anyway. PS: If I wake up a 300 lb. tub o' shit tomorrow morning I'm gonna be pissed and punch a school teacher in the face. That'll be on YOUR heads.
I used Cytogainer when I was bulking and I loved it. Its a great product IMO. Also...I dont see how you are gonna get fat like how you mention if you are working out anyway. If you're not working out and drinking this 3 times a day along with your meals, then yeah, you are gonna get fat. I would be happy if I won that for free. Give it to me if you dont want it :icon_surp
Use it PWO. If you want, you cna cut the serving size in half, but I wouldn't since your goal is to get bigger and stronger. It's a great PWO protein and also tastes pretty good. Now, about the directions. EDUCATE YOURSELF about your nutrition needs. Companies put directions like that on weight gainers, because 1500 calories a day +food will put weight on most people, so even an idiot with no clue what they're doing will get results and be happy with their purchase. The other reason is that you run the tub quicker and have to buy more of the product which makes the company more money. Learn what your nutrition needs are and learn how to read labels so you aren't relying on bullshit directions.
Def PWO. I have used it and RecoverX both for PWO and both do the Job Well. I don't like to bulk with powders and only use them PWO but if you sub 2 meals with the Gainer it will accomplish a bulking phase.
I'm going to buy cytogainer and mix 4 scoops with ~40oz of water/ice, ~10g of BCAAs, and ~3g beta alanine and drink it while I work out. I will also fore go a post workout drink.
Idk if beta alanine intra-workout is a good idea brah, that shit makes me loopy as hell. I drink 3 g in the morning and before I go to sleep, it KO's me @ night
