The way I see it, if it stays on the feet, Ronda gets lit up. Nunes boxing against Tate looked top-notch (by MMA standards); and Ronda's is pretty subpar, and she tends to rely on her boxing. When she was blasting everybody, her striking was adequate or even better then alot of these women fighters, but I'm getting the feeling she's getting left behind at this point.

So unless Ronda has drastically improved her striking, or learned to shoot takedowns, she's going to have to get past Nunes hands and get close enough to wrap her up and take her down - and we saw how that worked against Holm.

But I'll give Ronda +1 for her size, I think she's gonna come bigger, stronger then Nunes. Holm is big and I think was able to negate Ronda better in the clinches and avoid getting takendown.

But again, if Rousey is stuck in the same routine I see her getting lit up on her feet, maybe worse then Holm.

Oh and it certaintly doesn't help that Ronda has had like a 1 1/2 - 2 year layoff, and mental state has been looking questionable at least.

What I want to know is how Nunes will react when Ronda rushes to get a clinch. If she can keep her distance, she wins, but if Rousey gets the TD, she will get the sub.
Rooting for Nunes, but I think Rousey by armbar in the first.

I don't think Amanda is that great, to be honest. This is a winnable fight for Ronda, even with her limited striking. If she manages to get past round 1, Amanda will tire and she'll be able to take her down. I think Amanda has enough of a ground game to survive for a bit, but eventually Ronda will get the armbar.

Ronda has a lot of power and Amanda is careless sometimes. Amanda should win the standup, but any punch can end it. I'm leaning towards Ronda even though I've always said Nunes is the one to dethrone rousey pre holm.

  8. First round KO or first round arm bar. The safest bet is that it doesn't go past X round.

Ronda can't strike for shit against seasoned fighters, doesn't have any single/double-leg, have suspicious cardio and only rely on her judo throws/sweeps to get the armbar.

And she couldn't even take down a boxer, that has very basic grappling, and is physically weaker than Nunes.

Miss Piggy will get get TKO'd

Totally agree. I lean towards Nunes KOoing or TKO or Ronda giving up back for RNC after being pummeled. But if things line up right, Rousey could get TD and armbar.

I don't agree simply because, if the fight is in the 2nd round, it means that Nunes has either defended a number of throws, scrambles/ Sub attempts or has been lighting Ronda up on the feet. In other words: 2nd round Ronda is dead in the water.

Odds of Ronda winning: 50% (odds of it being in the first: ~100%)

Odds of Amanda winning: 50% (odds of it being in the first 3 rounds: ~100%)

    The fight will start.

Both fighters will move towards the center of the octagon but keep a safe distance. Both know each other's strengths. Neither is fooling the other.

Nunes throws a leg kick, followed by a straight right. Neither strike lands.

    Ronda patiently waits.

Nunes moves in and throws a jab and a looping right. The jab misses but the right hits Ronda's shoulder.

Ronda quickly moves in for the clinch.

Nunes tries to back away but Ronda has her locked up.

Ronda takes her down with a ko-soto-gake - a trip from the clinch

Nunes tries to push Ronda off of her and get back up.

Ronda is too strong and quickly works to side control.

Nunes tries to scoot out the back but Ronda catches her and repositions.

Ronda punches Nunes in the face with short punches.

Rogan points out that Nunes needs to watch out for her arms.

Nunes frantically tries to get out of the position and gets careless.

    Ronda isolates Nunes's arm.

Rogan screams "SHE'S GOT IT! THIS IS BAD NEWS FOR AMANDA!"

Ronda locks up the arm bar

Rogan screams "IT'S LOCKED IN!!! SHE'S GONNA TAP!!!

Nunes taps after a few seconds.
