Jones took his soul?
Lost motivation?
How can a first TKO loss affect him?
He's too old?

Use his hairline as reference. DC has the male pattern baldness progression of a typical man. A typical man enters his prime - perfect balance between physical prowess and experience at Norwood 2.5-3 hairline.

So past his prime he can tool just about anyone at light heavyweight.

Just because he's better than everyone else available doesn't mean he's at peak performance.

Age wise he’s way past his prime but he started late and hasn’t taken a ton of damage. He could still peak

2 jones fights past

He’s lost his edge, I think he’s technically a better matchup going into the stipe fight, it he won’t have the drive anymore and is mentally broken and will lose because of this.

Muchas gracias, senor Bolanos.

He looked as sharp as ever against Volkan, I don't believe he's far removed from his MMA prime. With that said, when you're 39 years old, age can hit at any time. Father time is undefeated and will claim DC at some point, just like it has claimed everyone else. Hopefully it holds off a little bit longer.

As he was dominating LHW (san Jones), and HW having a higher age threshold on shelf life, I'd say he was a only bit past as far as his MMA career goes.

He lost to Jones on roids.

Since he entered MMA very late & has pretty much dominated everyone except Jones we can't really tell if he's past his prime yet.

He looks pretty damn good so far.

Laying track in case DC loses for the inevitable discrediting of Stipe's achievement. A wise precaution.

Today: bro, DC still murks anyone on the planet not named Jon Jones
Sunday: bro, DC is 5 years past his prime, Stipe still has no credible wins

You know aging is real, right?

Yeah I know, my own body keeps coming with new and painful ways of reminding me. But no aging is as sudden as what happens between the start of a Miocic card PBP and its end, if you gauge by the tenor of the posts.

dude, what's your deal with male pattern baldness? Ive seen you post about it twice today, and I'm sure I've seen you post about it many times before. I'm not hating. It's just your analyses are astoundingly in depth.

He's past his athletic prime but he still has evolving technical skills so it's a complicated question.

For example the way he dialed in his timing and got inside on Jones in the second fight was impressive for his stature, even though he lost. Much improved from the past, and will help him against Stipe.

One of my main mission statements on Sherdog is to raise awareness on MPB, and to combat longstanding myths and misinformation surrounding it with peer-reviewed scientific facts. The fact that Sherbros like you are noticing it means I'm doing my job. Thanks, I appreciate the feedback.
