How overrated is Anthony Joshua?

I will explain myself again, Usyk is a good boxer that has flaws and Josh let him get away with his flaws that Fury wouldn't let him get away with his flaws, Josh isn't an intelligent in the fight thinking fighter that makes adjustments, he's robotic and gun shy, what super hand speed does Usyk have ? there's normal heavyweight boxing gand speed and incredible heavyweight hand speed, Usyk has your normal heavyweight hand speed he's just as fast as Josh, both are normal.

Where's this incredible hand speed ? Where's this incredible footwork ? Usyk is going side to side backing straight back and then darting in firing punches, Josh is doing the exact same thing, Whitaker has incredible footwork and defensive footwork, Usyk has ordinary footwork,, Josh is backing straight up getting caught you never back straight up, you step over pivot your foot to change the angle, Usyk doesn't do this either, James Tony was a master of footwork, head movement.

Stop comparing usyk to defensive specialists like Tony and Whitaker. That’s not his game and never has been he’s an offensive specialist/focuses boxer

AJ form whyte fight could get the job done he needs to go back to being nasty and bigger. Not sure if he has it in him anymore. Also he could easily gas but coming in big and aggressive settle in for a couple of rounds behind a hard jab not that crap one from Saturday and then just take it too him go for a stoppage until he runs out of gas like the local BP garage.

If he doesn’t take the rematch the belts would scatter and he won’t get shot until 2023 at the earliest. Eddie has said as much . Even if he looses the rematch there is likely to be fights there vs wilder / whyte and maybe fury (later) if he wants them
I know the belts will be lost BUT I'm thinking how Joshua will cope with a second dominating defeat in a row. He'll lose the belts and be psychologically damaged. It could be the end of his career depending on how he takes the loss.

And yes I think AJ vs. Whyte form would be his best bet. I'd go all out at hammering Usky's body as well. Easier target and I think he's vulnerable there.

When is your fight with this slow small heavyweight? You clearly have him figured out better than all the other 354 opponents he's had in his boxing career...if you don't fancy the fight give wilder a phone call he could do with a new coach or even AJ ready for the rematch.
I would find his analysis amusing normally but he goes on for ages talking absolute shit.

Certain Usyk fans are trying to make everyone else believe Usyk is the greatest of all time skills wise and this isn't true, it's nothing but fan over hype, I was just pointing out the differences, some will say Tony is crap offensively and defensively, so it goes both ways, the nonsense happens with all fighters the negative and positive extreme talk, everyone just needs to come back to earth, after this Usyk hype train stops at the station, so his fans can jump off.

Defiantly needs to work the body more. I see where you are coming from regarding being psychologically damaged if he looses but I think that ship has sailed already. He looked like me sparring Saturday night….can’t work out how I am getting hit and just waiting for the next one like a rabbit in the headlights

Yeah he could be broken and it could have even been as long ago as the Ruiz beating. All I know is that he needs a lot of work and time to build the skills he needs to beat Usyk, and an immediate rematch doesn't imho give him anywhere near enough time to make the changes he needs. If he can pull off the upset and beat Usyk in the rematch, I'll be astounded. And yes I get where you are coming from with the sparring. I've been there where you can't pull the trigger because you know you are going to get hit by the superior boxer. AJ needs to fight like he's Whyte or Chisora.

It isn't fan overhype it's boxing fans appreciating Usyk as a boxer <Lmaoo> his list of achievements are better than average. He's unified the CW, won gold at the Olympics and just beat one of the best HW of this generation with ease and is now the HW champion. Instead of trying to convince everyone Usyk is just an average fighter why don't you accept that majority of sherdog member, most boxing critics and other pro boxers see Usyk a highly skilled and decorated boxer better than average. You turn around and say its Usyk fans trying to convince others he's the greatest but all I see is you struggling to convince everyone that he isn't. I don't think he's the greatest but same as most people I think what he's achieved is fantastic and I love watching him box....I'll leave it at that now

I think it goes back to when Povetkin broke nose and it only got worse with Ruiz

Touché to all of that

His hype machine was just destroyed forever imo, he got lucky to fight an aged Klitschko, and now Usyk avenged his countryman

Usyk is undefeated and cleared house at Cruiserweight it’s not a career ending loss. He fought a bad fight IMO. Didn’t use his size and power advantages and fought Usyks fight.

I think it’s worry after Ruiz to protect his chin. He needs to step up the agression and take a roll of the dice that he will win a toe to toe exchange. His boxing is better than wilders but he isn’t out boxing the likes of Fury or Usyk.

I also Wlad may have been past his prime but he looked a game fighter, not the same fighter who didn’t look like he wanted to be in the ring we saw against Fury. It was a great win for AJ.

AJ reminds me of Frank Bruno. Good technique, imposing physique - no ‘animal’. Just doesn’t have that ‘killer’ instinct to win against all odds. Usyk just seemed to want it more - AJ could have used his size to start bullying him, throwing more than single shots, but just didn’t seem to have the will.
