How much steroid use do you guys think is going on at the top level?

When money is on the line and there is no testing then there is a high possibility

just cause they are dedicated to build muscle and endurance doesn't mean they do steriods

If jiujitsu was my career, was elite level, and wasn't tested... I can't say I wouldn't if I felt I needed to do so to keep up with the juice-infused competition.

I'm a pretty level headed dude, so I'd imagine a lot of other people think like I do if they're honest with themselves. Then again, I'm open to the possibility I'm an unethical prick.

With that said, I'm sure most juice.

Wow! You think it's that high?
I really can't see how it can't be really high. Look at other sports like cycling where there is a crazy amount of testing yet cheating is still rampant and compare it to BJJ which has no testing, it really makes no sense that BJJers would not be taking advantage of this. I know if BJJ was my career and I'm training fulltime everyday then I would for sure be using steroids.

So if you and 10 other people took a test to start working on your dream-job with your dream-salary and only one person got it, and it was okay to use your laptop which you brought to answer the questions, would you (j)use it?

You can lie to yourself and say "erhh no I wouldn't have cheated to reach my dreams and be able to provide for my future family" or you can be honest.

They all juice, if you don't then you lose.

trust me, no testing=lots and lots of peds.

I personally know of guys who you would recognize and they compete at top level

They can test for steroids and I think the sport will be fine.

But if they test for marijuana, we'll lose every competitor.

Here's another example:

You work in a competitive environment where you are constantly competing to reach the top and your salary is 100% based on your performance. It is also a job you love and have a strong emotional commitment to be the very best at. The nature of the job is very mentally taxing and causes a sleep deprived life style.

Do you take caffeine? What if caffeine is illegal, but people at work no how to get it? Keep in mind that you know how to cycle off and pass a drug test.

Lol! I'm always amazed at how naive so many people are.

I would guess that 90% or more of male black belts are on steroids and close to 75% of the Brown/Black women are as well. I can think of about 4 top guys that I'm sure are not on them, the rest I'm sure are. (And the marijuana use is probably higher.)

Not sure how it is continually passed over that the use of performance enhancing steroids in sports is illegal in both the U.S. and Brazil. But if you need to get it, plenty of top athletes can hook you up with a doc who is willing to give you a prescription. How is it that people are still surprised that their beloved athletes are using? Props to Caio and Felipe for attempting to pave the way for testing.

If that laptop had a laundry list of horrible short and long-term side effects then no.

I know they're using.

I'm just saying that I think competitors will be able to give up PED's, but not marijuana. And even if they can't give up PED's, they'll just tighten their cycles so they don't piss hot.

Poster above me, a properly run cycle with a well thought out PCT won't have that many long term or short term side effects. The main issue with steroids comes with the misinformation surrounding them, and the lack of easily accessible instructions on how to properly take them.

Hope you don't do alcohol or cigarettes or you are one helluva hypocrite. Popping an ephedrine 3 times a year won't cause you any damage you will ever notice unless you have an allergic reaction for it. Same goes for most one-dose performance enhancers. The cycle ones will cause side-effects which aren't horrible at all and apart from EPO the "real risks" aren't close to horrible. Going out every weekend and getting smashed has more "horrible" short and long-term side effects.

If you don't consume alcohol nor any other drug(yes alcohol is a drug and nothing else) then I respect you for your life philosophy. If you do alcohol then you are the typical sheep and deserve no more replies.

I agree with Lasse.

Also doing pro-hormones is MUCH more dangerous, even if it is legal.

Look at the physique of Roger, then tell me if steroids are needed to be dominant in this sport.
