i'm talking about guys like hasegawa and the kamedas , they don't seem in a hurry to come fight in the us where the big money is . any idea if their paydays reach the seven figures ?

A lot. I couldn't say the exact number but they're definetly millionaires.

No idea, though probably enough... When I was boxing amateur in the UK, I had a "pro" boxer in my gym (Anthony "Forever" Young). The guy was basically a punching bag, used to pad guys' records, and he still was paid more than 2000 GBP per fight + accomodation + traveling expenses for him and his coach+cornermen. Even shitty "pros" in Europe make better money than UFC fighters.

This is a purse bid for one of daiki kamedas fights

Kyoei Boxing Gym has won the purse bid for the WBA flyweight title match between champion Daiki Kameda and Takefumi Sakata, the World Boxing Association said on its official website on Monday.

Kyoei won the bid, which took place at Wynn Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, with an offer of $315,000. Under WBA rules, the champion will receive 75 percent of the purse and the challenger 25 percent

Former WBO bantamweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez who lost his title to Filipino veteran Gerry Penalosa on August 11, 2007 in the World Cup of Boxing in which the Philippines whipped Mexico 5-1, has noved up in weight and goes for the WBC super bantamweight title against Japan’s Toshiaki Nishioka in the Arena Monterrey, Mexico on Saturday.

The purse bid for the fight was won by Promociones del Pueblo who bid $425,000 while Teiken Promotions of Japanese businessman-sportsman Akihiko Honda bid $402,000. Surprisingly, Golden Boy Promotions which handles Gonzalez bid a much lower $186,000.

I thought Penalosa had retired. I knew he talked about it after the Pounce fight then I thought i was made offical shortly after Kietmangmee. I always like watching Gery fight heart for days and tactical guy.
