The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the new UFC posters is "the mcgregor effect". There is no way in hell the UFC does something as out of the box as these new posters. In fact, the UFC the last couple of years has been producing some of the most bland posters since mma began in 1993.
But just like that, after Mcgregor calls out the poster department, it seems everything has changed over night. No more cookie cutter posters. These are now memorable posters that will be remembered for decades to come. I couldn't tell you how UFC 155 or UFC 175 posters looked like because I don't remember. But I will definitely remember the UFC 200 posters.
Another way he's improving is all the fighters are trash talking now. Sure some still come off as lame or fake when they trash talk, but at least they aren't giving the same old cookie cutter answers like "I respect my opponent... we will see what happens on Saturday September.....hopefully I come out on top".
The snob mma fans will say that they only watch for the fights, well guess what, these guys are going to fight regardless of if they trash talk or not. The trash talking is just the cherry on top. It adds so much energy and excitment for the fights. Makes it more enjoyable to watch with people live at the event or even at local sports bars.
The Mcgregor effect is real.
