The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the new UFC posters is "the mcgregor effect". There is no way in hell the UFC does something as out of the box as these new posters. In fact, the UFC the last couple of years has been producing some of the most bland posters since mma began in 1993.

But just like that, after Mcgregor calls out the poster department, it seems everything has changed over night. No more cookie cutter posters. These are now memorable posters that will be remembered for decades to come. I couldn't tell you how UFC 155 or UFC 175 posters looked like because I don't remember. But I will definitely remember the UFC 200 posters.

Another way he's improving is all the fighters are trash talking now. Sure some still come off as lame or fake when they trash talk, but at least they aren't giving the same old cookie cutter answers like "I respect my opponent... we will see what happens on Saturday September.....hopefully I come out on top".

The snob mma fans will say that they only watch for the fights, well guess what, these guys are going to fight regardless of if they trash talk or not. The trash talking is just the cherry on top. It adds so much energy and excitment for the fights. Makes it more enjoyable to watch with people live at the event or even at local sports bars.

The Mcgregor effect is real.

Tell us something new trash talk has been going for a long time. Chael, Bisping, Kos, Serra etc etc 100s of guys have been doing trash talk and if you want to credit a guy for it it's Chael Sonnen

I pretty much disagree with all of that. Except the part about UFC 200 poster's being memorable.

Conor is making a big empact. It's emportant that he emproves in his next match with Nate but I think it is empossible for him to emplement a winning strategy.

Nothing is empossible.

What you are emplying is not that all emprobable. Empressive, TS.

Did they, aside from Chael, garner the same attention?

You can hate conor, but he still took it up a notch

I never said Mcgregor was the first to trash talk. I know there have been plenty of trash talkers even before Chael. But none of them effected the rest of the roster like Mcgregor. As soon as Fertitta announced Mcgregor would be the first $100 mill mma fighter, the whole roster took notice. Chael also got a big paycheck but it wasn't anything close to Mcgregor.

UFC is putting Mcgregor in $10mill mansions and he's going around with a motorcade of rolls royces, bentleys and lambos. That kind of stuff has most definitely inspired many UFC fighters. Chael came just short of doing that.... couldn't get the title.

Nice thread TS.

I'd add more but you've already nailed it!

Is it improving or 'ruining' everything? Perhaps you should take an English class in UNited state of America.
