Im curious... How many reps do you all usually end up doing after an average squat workout? I read an article written by John Grimek and he said by the end of his workout he would have done around 70 to 90 full deep knee bends, using the pyramid style of working up in weight. His warm up would be 225 for like 20 reps then 275 for 18, 315 for 15 and so on until around 600 pounds where hed be doing 2 or 3 reps. He did this every time he squated! Which was often! I go about squating in the complete oposite way. I work up in low reps to keep my legs fresh for the heavier weights. When im done with the heavy stuff I work down in weight with higher reps (just to get some work in and fatigue my legs). I usually end up with somewhere between 35 and 45 reps.
This is how I do it. Today, for example: Bar*a couple 135*8 225*5 315*3 405*2 455*1 495*1 585*1 605*miss 500*5 405*17 44 Reps, which is a few higher than normal thanks to some PRs.
It depends what you're trying to do. Warm-up with sets of 5 and below. Work with sets of 3 and do singles, and load weight onto the damn bar. And yes, Ascendant can walk after that. He's a fucking monster.
Damn, you guys use alot of volume. For me: Warm up: 135x8 275x3 295x3 315x2 335x2 355x1 335x2 295x3 So 16 reps total (excluding warm up)
i think it'll look weird when you lose the dubs and go back to what, a yellow belt? do you best to keep them as long as possible.
