I've been traveling for work for the last ten years some years more than others. Overall it's getting harder now with kids. On my latest trip this past week, I passed 40 days so far this year. I've done as many as 120 days in a year once.

So whether you're in sales, consulting, traveling sports team, or whatever else how many days are you away from home in a given year?

Probably around 80-100 days away for work related travel and another 20-30 for personal travel.

Are you away continuously for big chunks at a time or a few days a week every week?

I used to do about 120 days a year at least being a bus driver/tour guide. This year I will only do about 50.

Any military folks? How long are your service terms?

Depends what you count as "travel" because that's a very broad term.

If I am on a business visa and don't establish residency in a country, but am more or less at the same address for a couple weeks to a couple months at a time, is that "travel"? Does it matter whether or not you maintain a residency or domicile? What if you have multiple residencies/domiciles, but haven't been to them in years?

What's the difference between traveling and moving frequently?

I have a friend who is permanently stationed in Korea (which in military terms means a couple years) but is on a five month training course back in the states, near home. What part of that constitutes "travel"?

I used to travel a lot more than I was at home... Thankfully, I can now say that this year I spent the entire time in the state of Washington. I traveled extensively, but within the state. And I loved every second of it...

I travel 20+ days per year for Leisure.

I'm a trucker, so at least 330+ days of the year.

I usually vacation for about two weeks. All my time is gone through internships and college..

When I had a role with global responsibility with a large corp I was traveling 65% of the time. Now I'm at the office 75% of the time.

I mean in the more traditional sense like you have a home base and travel weekly or sporadically.

You sound like you move from place to place very frequently.

Do You travel more when you work corporate than running your own company?

I am away from my house 4 days out of the week, for the most part.

Some weeks I can fly back home nightly, if the trips are for the east coast, though that happens less often than I would like.

Probably 50+ days per year. I'm about to go on a 12 day trip starting Monday.

Traveled 130 days last year. It'll be slightly less this year, but still 100+

I like it on the road, feels good man.
