Because I don't think he's gone for good.
 
new show came out yesterday on netflix.

 
He'll probably stick around. He has full creative control over his specials and Netflix is showering him with money.

He didn't say he was done, he said he'd been thinking about hanging it up but that's it. He made an observation on how everything offends someone but didn't use that as an excuse to quit.

Equanimity was hilarious. The other special that dropped yesterday was ok. I really liked his take on the Weinstein debacle - basically how Dave walked away from 50 million but some of these actresses wouldn't turn down fucking with Harvey for a part. He also said what I've thought all along - that some of these #metoo women sucked some dick then got buyer's remorse and got mad.
 
I watched Equanimity yesterday, it was pretty funny. I'm gonna check out the second one soon.
 
I enjoyed both overall. Surprisingly preachy at times but fuck it it's Dave Chapelle.

I thought the Iceberg Slim analogy was interesting. Was Dave both the pimp and the bottom bitch, and did he intentionally manufacture a crisis for himself in order to draw out his shelf life? Or was Comedy Central the pimp to his ho, and they tried to do him dirty like Iceberg Slim but he said fuck it and dipped? Such a colorful and elegant story.

This is stupid. Not to get too political here but Trump is doing a great job and people only bitch about him because the liberal media make you think it's the cool thing to do to bash him.

Chappelle in his new special literally was bashing Trump for trying to create new jobs in America, think about that. THAT'S what Dave was bashing Trump about! "Don't bring the jobs from China back over here. I don't know what coal is...I don't want to dig for coal. I want to wear Nike's I don't want to make them!" - Dave Chappelle. lol just think about that. Bashing a president for trying to create American jobs is the definition of reaching for something to hate on. /rant

No, he gets by on his name and reputation from his TV show, he is not funny like he used to be, fame went to his head. He reeks of arrogance.

Good for you? I don't know why you felt the need to tell me this. My opinion is that Dave is not that funny anymore.

In fact his stand up was never that great. It was his writing and his sketches that were brilliant.
