To avoid having to purchase an entire wifi connection - I got wifi on my phone, which goes up to 60 GB.

So I make a hotspot, which I am now running my computer off.

60 GB per month is what I get.

How long can I expect that to last?

I stream youtube, pretty much constantly, whilst I'm on sherdog etc - it's always in the background.
I also watch tv series online etc.

Is 60 GB a lot, given that outline?
Or can I expect to run out after a few days?

Do you download porn?

If so, a couple days probably.

Not sure. I have 4 people in my housr streamming, gaming, downloading etc. We use 7-800gbs a month.

Yea I have 5 in my house and we use that much and more. Sometimes quite a bit more. If major ISP's went to data caps I would be forced to take hostages.

at the recommendation of several sherdoggers (thank you very much!), i went with cricket wireless and got their unlimited data plan for $55/month. so far so good, and the service is fast. my usage is similar to the threadstarters, and after a week of use, i haven't even reached 10gb yet. i'm hovering around 9gb, so i think 60 should be enough. and i'm using youtube for at least four hours per day.

60GB is like going to a titty bar. It looks good, at first, but it isn't very satisifying.

It depends on the quality of the porn video.

60Gb won't last you long. Especially if you like to go on Youtbe or watch netflix.

People still download porn with the amount of streaming available?

If the sheer amount of porn sites out there is any indication, yes.

Even so, streaming still counts as data.

I used half a GB, just watching a couple hours youtube last night.

I think if I was conservative, it would be okay.
But I may have to scale back the liberalness of my watching.

Plus - windows 10 has an update planned.
Can I expect that to rape my data usage??

60 gb is nothing. I go through 25 GB a month on my phone just streaming music/bloomberg and using waze.

60gb is nothing when you stream. Might last a week if youre lucky.

Also depends on the quality of the videos / size

Not long. I had something like a 30 gig plan. I had to upgrade to unlimited in about a week.

A typical high definition movie can be up to 4 GB. Using your phone as a WIFI hotspot seems like a particularly poor idea. Not only is your data going to be limited greatly, you'll burn through your phones battery life quick as shit.

Should be able to get by with 1-2GB a day

If YouTube is always on the background then youll run out pretty soon
