I've been training for about 6 months now and I've been thinking about competing sometime soon. I was just wondering how long you guys trained before you decided to do your first competition?

My first comp. is in 2 weeks and I've been training for almost 3 weeks. What's the worst that could happen?

I went to the first competition I could. Maybe i was training 2 months and that entire time had shoulder impingment syndrome from my striking class.

I competed after 5 months. I lost my first 4 tournament matches

The more you compete the more you will improve.

I have been training for about six months and I am also thinking about competing soon. Everyone tells me that White Belt is the best time to start competing. After six months, I finally feel like I wouldn't get my ass handed to me in the white belt division.

I am 6'0 and 230 and by no means fat. I would be in the Super Super Heavy Division though and some of these dudes are Monsters!

Oh yeah, after six months of just reading on this forum I finally pulled the trigger and posted!

    Great Forum!

I've been training gi for 2 months. My first tournament is tomorrow. I've been doing no gi for about a year, just very inconsistently.
