How is the Mandalorian better than the last three Star Wars films combined?

I think the Disney films tried too hard to push a social engineering agenda

I think they just sucked. Granted, I haven't watched most of the last film (because I got bored and turned it off), but my overall impression from having seen 2 and 1/4 films is that the movies are mostly divorced from the braindead marketing.
First movie was ok, second was pretty bad (not as bad as some make it out to be) but has an ending that has to go down in history as an epic blunder.
Third sounds like a total shit show from what I've heard regarding the plot.
Also, Boyega is an asshat.

Mandalorian, I havent seen. I suspect the show appeals very strongly to a niche audience. Personally I have no interest in watching it, and I'm not sure I'd find it any better than the last few films if I did. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, and what I mainly want out of the franchise is a huge spectacle. A Star Wars that tries to scale back and focus on narrative is just pointless to me. I'd prefer just watching something else. My point being I'm not sure I agree with the premise of the thread.

I know my padawan I know...

those last three movies left us angry, irritated, dick teased, blue balled, depressed, confused, longing, irrate, between those 3 gungan turds and what Michael Bey (I hate Michael bey) did to transformers...I’m seriously considering some head shrinker sessions

Now if Hollywood fucks up Masters of the Universe I’m going full nerd postal up in this mofo

Rogue One is the only saving grace from this most recent Star Wars epoch
No, you’ll go “I’m hear to chew bubblegum and kickass and I’m all out of bubblegum “ on their ass!

Indeed. Specifically the Met Police Royal and Specialist Protection Command. I really enjoyed the series, and the Actor Formerly Known as the King in the North was bloody good in the role. But the entire concept was ridiculous. No professional close protection officer is going to sleep with his principal. Even if she does look like Keeley Hawes. It's a cardinal sin in that line of work.

Also the whole scene where they make him walk while wearing the IED to a safe area; every copper in that cordon would have died with him if it had gone off.

Lastly, after having been beaten up, kidnapped and forced to hold a dead man's switch closed for hours until the bomb is made safe, he suddenly turns into Batman and manages to effortlessly elude a large group of highly trained armed police:rolleyes:

Plus using electronic devices around the bomb - no no

Exiting the lift last is no no too

The gun he wears is supposed to be on his hip for easy access but he sometimes put it in the small of his back..m

I'd also be surprised if a single CPO, even the team leader, checked the principal's house by himself. That should be a two man job, for obvious reasons. And even if it is done by a single officer, keep the principal in the car with the engine running while he checks the house and only let her in once he's given the all clear.

I think The Mandalorian is better than any of the movies other than the original trilogy. I like how it expands the universe and is stand alone.

Yeah “they just sucked” about sums episodes 7-9 up nicely

and at the risk of me crushing my phone as I type this whoever thought Zombie Fucking Palp was a good idea needs to be dragged out to the back lot of Disney studios stripped naked and horse whipped by a mob of angry nerds led by me!

Do i have to move much in this nerd army?

Shitty direction and scripts mainly.

Mandolorian has some moments of terrible writing too, but what makes it great is that the whole series seems built around really cool looking scenes from story boards.

lil too much of "the force is female" this week
still cool

The force awakens started off good and was pretty decent (no great but the potential was there) then the last 20 minutes or so was WTF and that WTF continued for 2 more full length films.

It seemed like they had no other plan other than push female empowerment - coherent and believable story (plot) be damned.

The woman in the black shirt was in charge of all three of the new movies.

an agenda?

Imo there are more mediocre to bad episodes than good ones. The show is too kiddyish imo and it’s written pretty poorly. Some of the acting and dialogue is terrible.

Meh, you just described the original trilogy.....

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know if she deserves ALL the blame, but I find it funny she has a black shirt for herself, and white for everyone else, because god forbid she doesn't stand out. Typical of a portion of liberals, they have good ideas but force it too far/hard and have to let EVERYONE know what they're doing. They might want to make things better, but even that is second to wanting to pump themselves up.

IDK but the mandalorian is as good as star wars gets.

Just binged the whole series, found it surprisingly enjoyable. Pretty much the only thing star wars related that i enjoyed.

I’m seriously wondering why?

like they’re both Disney productions they both have a plethora of back storys, canon and lore to pull from.

I think the Disney films tried too hard to push a social engineering agenda while Mando is just ole fashion whoop ass in a western lone gunman Sci fi motif thoughts?

I literally talked about this exact thing to my bro a few days ago. The reason, imo, is that SW universe is FAR better suited to serialization than to movies. To some extent movies work for highlighting specific, rounded, storylines, but they CANNOT be used to cover the entire universe of SW, and shouldn't. That's the reason long form stuff like Knights of The Old Republic worked so magnificently well compared to movies - they took tens of hours to develop long, elaborate stories, with deep character development and exceptionally strong plot lines and dialogue. As an example, Darth Trays is a better villain than literally every single Sith in all of Star Wars, and it's not even fair to make any comparisons, her character is a million times better developed than any other in the movies.

Mandalorian works because it covers something similar, a long arc with slow build up. First three episodes of Mandalorian are 1000x better than the last three movies combined and there's not even a comparison to be made. Probably the reason why Rogue One and Solo are also better than the main three movies - they don't try to close out every plot line in a very big story. I can't explain how much i cannot watch the last three movies, they're unbelievably bad. TV show and games are the only medium for SW that works.
