I mean he barely throws anything he got out strike his last 2 fights. And wonderboy knows how to keep his distance.

It's a very tough match for lawler but he has an iron chin and vicious hands

wonderboy is gonna kick his head clean off

no but seriosly its a very tought fight for lawler.

he needs to look at the whitaker fight and try and tag wonderboy with hard jabs

i suspect that wonderboy doesnt take damage to the face too well

Thompson got almost finished in one of his last fights.

But yes, I think he will beat the shit of Lawler too. Just think that if Lawler can pressure and land like he usually does in the last round of all his fights, he can win.

He has to put the pressure on Wonderboy and get in close to neutralize the effectiveness of Wonderboys length and kicking ability.

He doesn't. Wonderboy by head kick.

He's gotta blitz wonderboy and get his hands on him, but I don't think that's happening. Sadly

He wont. Wonderboy will be outstriking him for few rounds, Robbie then goes berserk and charges in and Wonderboy will counter him, probably with a head kick.

His chances at winning are very slim. Either he catches him with a hail marry, or somehow out pressures him to a decision or late stoppage. Not looking good for Lawler at this point.

Tough fight for Lawler for sure, but Robbie has some advantages here.

1. Robbie can make this a brawl. He can close distance and land big shots on fighters who are more technically sound. Thompson, whose fighting style relies on keeping the range, would have to adapt to that.
2. Experiece - Robbie has been around for over a decade and has all that experience. He's been in some very tough fights, especially recently, and even in the parts where he was losing, he was never out of the fight.
3. Toughness - You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who is tougher than Lawler. He can take a beating only to come back and dish it out worse than he got. He's always ready for more. Thompson has to catch him completely unaware and get the KO to finish the fight, which is definitely possible, but would be difficult.
4. Champion experience - Robbie's the champ. That counts for a lot. He's used to the press and the hype and the pressure. Thompson is going to experience it for the first time, so he's at a bit of a disadvantage there.

Very tough fight for Robbie, but he can win.

...and all of this is assuming he beats Woodley and they give Thompson the next shot, which they almost definitely will, but Robbie still has to beat Woodley.

Im a lil worried for Lawler in this matchup, Wonderboy knows how to pick his shots and evades very well when attacked. The thing is, you can NEVER count Robbie out, he has iron chin and grit above most men.

WAR Robbie but I wouldnt be surpried to hear "And new" :(

by punching him in the face wonderboy has been dropped 3 times in the ufc he does'n have the best chin

if jake can close the distance and drop him what makes you think robbie cant

Lawler's only chance is to bite down on the mouthpiece and go full berserk mode and hope one of dem swinging fists connects.

To quote our savior from the conner plague, "Otherwise its gonna be a fucked up night for him."
