TJ took Renan's soul and I doubt his chin will recover, theres one man you dont want landing on your chin at 145 and its Stephens who ko'd RDA

Does anyone give him a prayer against Jeremy Stephens?

Will bet heavy on the stephens ko.

If a dude who got wrecked by Cain and Miocic for 5 rounds can still take Rothwell shots, then he can too

I'm going with Stephens though

Former champion versus an inconsistent fringe top 15 guy?

Get out.

I'm going with Stephens.

Unless TJ decides to give Renan his soul back.

Barao hasn't looked the same since the 1st Round of Dillashaw 1. And Stephens hits hard.

I think his chin will be better at 145 now that he doesn't have to cut so much weight tbh. His ability to take shots was compromised through improper weight cuts because he risked not having enough fluid in his brain come fight time. Also I think TJ's speed and stance shifting just overloaded Barao to the point where it stifled him and he couldn't throw any meaningful offense comfortably. He's not going to have any of these problems against Stephens. And that's not to say that Stephens can't knock him out but I don't think it's as cut and dry as you make it out to be. I'm 50/50 on this fight.

well former champ thing help...

Well, Jeremy's last name isn't Dillashaw.

I'm leaning towards Stephens but it's a different style match up. Jeremy isn't going to exploit Barao's linear attacks, cut angles, switch stances mid combo, or have advantages in speed and timing. Barao is more mobile, more diverse, and has a good wrestling and submission threat here. If he hangs around in the pocket as he's been known to do then he's likely to get clipped by Stephens.

Not to mention Renan is going to be unchained from that brutal BW cut with this return to FW. It's an interesting fight, I feel they both can bring the best out of each other.

Betting lines. How do they work?

Exciting fight. Stephens should be the UD. He's a journeymen fighter. Barao is a former champ and defended his title more times than TJ did.

Without the drastic cut he should be physically a lot a lot better, plus Stephens never beat anyone that good except baby RDA

Barao is far more well rounded, but if Jetemy hits him hard once he's done. I think Barao will mix it up enough to win

lol, TJ truly did take Barao's soul... People forget that was possibly the biggest upset in UFC history and Barao went from a PFP top 5 to being unheard of in about 6 months...

I actually think Stephens will win, if he does, then Barao's 32 win rein followed by his last 3-4 fights will be one of the worst collapses in history

Sherdog logic lol, TJ doesn't it that hard anyway, he just has slick snake's movement and tags you a lot.

jeremy lost 3 out of his last 4 and lost all of them badly. He isnt even close to being a top 5 guy in that division and I know this is baraos first fw fight but he was still a world champion and beat some tough guys on the way there. I would heavily favor barao.

I can easily see why the odds have Barao as a favorite, but at a new weight class with a strong guy the likes of Stephens.. Could be a very tough fight
