DC and Aldo both were given the belts and had lost to the previous Champ. The only difference is Aldo is an All time great and still the best there ever was at 145lbs, and the former champ no longer fights there. oh and he has 10+ world title defences.

DC won the 2nd hand belt and defended it once in a razor close fight.

At least with Aldo, there still is uncertainty of how a longer fight would go with the guy who beat him. DC on the other hand was soundly beaten by Jones and a rematch wouldn't look to different...considering DC is 2 years older into his late 30's than the last fight.

I know most people don't care about the rankings, but if they're going to have it...atleast let it make sense.

DC didn't get 1 shotted by some b level fighter who got slapped up by Nate Diaz. He lost a relatively competitive fight with the greatest fighter in MMA history ( pre USADA at least )

DC was also top 5 at HW.

P4p means everyone is the same size

So dcs wrestling wouldn't work with aldos god tier td defense

Therefore it's a stand up fight where aldo smashes him

    So it makes 0 sense

Hahaha holy shit, the guy managed to absolutely shit all over both Aldo and Conor at the same time in a single sentence. That's an accomplishment.

Because they're better than the people below them?

Because the p4p rankings have odd metrics to stay "up-to-date". The history of either fighters carry little weight in the current rankings.

We don't know that. Aldo has never faced a wrestler of DC's caliber.

Aldo beat a LW Champ and all time great in Edgar twice. That in itself is better than any of Cormiers heavyweight wins.

    Conor is a two weight world champ dispatching one of the GOATS in 13 seconds. A B fighter? Jesus fuck, the haters are disgusting. {<jordan}

I agree TC. How is Aldo not top 3?
It's not like he lost in a way where he was completely dominated from round 1 to 5. He exploded into a punch from a lw and wasn't given a chance at redemption after 9 defenses. Then in his comeback fight dominated a guy who hadn't lost in years.

    Def top 3(number 1) material.

Cruz in 2 is the biggest wtf for me.

He has 1 good win in 5 years and many people thought he lost that fight.

DC and Jose Aldo are both paper "champs". That's why.
