how ironic is it that Diaz was TKO'd on 4 20?

I always thought this was funny, the one TKO loss Diaz suffered was to Josh Thomson on 4/20, oh the irony. One another note, Diaz had 0 defense for those kicks, Thomson might as well have been swinging a baseball bat at Nate, he was winding those kicks up and throwing with all his power, yet Nate had no answer. Lol

super, good job.

welcome to an old joke kind Sir.

I think that Nate doesn't have that kicks defence because he is a typical boxer. We could see how RDA punished him with kicks and maybe Conor will throw more kicks in the rematch but it might not be so effective. If Nate caught any of those kicks and take it to the ground, he would end it quickly.

It is literally not ironic at all

Nate then discovered that alcohol was his magic potion

Pretty sure that's a coincidence, not irony.

His mind wasn't in the fight. He was to busy thinking about all the blunts he had rolled to celebrate the holiday.

Nate wasn't checking kicks vs RDA, and started out much the same vs Johnson, allowing him to rack up over 15 low kicks in just the first round ...but then he started checking them and did an excellent job of it.

So you can't say that Nate doesn't check low kicks. If he feels that the opponent is trying to work his leg, he will adapt and be very effective defending them. You can't ignore the Michael Johnson fight and pretend like it's the same old Nate.

That's one.

Two: Conor does not have a good roundhouse, especially not a low roundhouse.

Three: Even if, by some miracle, Conor shows up to the rematch with an excellent low kick, it will not affect the outcome of the fight unless Conor's cardio holds up. That's a major problem. In the first fight, he gassed early in the second round and worse than that, he folded almost immediately once he started getting hit. Consider how much abuse Cerrone and Johnson took from Nate and tell me that this doesn't say something about Conor's mental toughness.

Conor has a terrible roundhouse kick. It was the slowest one I had ever seen. Even after 2 years he wouldn't be on RDA's level of leg kicks. Plus even if they were just as solid, they haven't been a part of his game long enough to know when to deal with it and how to deal with counters.

He got rocked and fell to the floor. That's like saying someone getting choked out and saying they folded. But the Diaz's are known to just eat kicks and not utilize them themselves. Something that always got me mad because the Diaz's are two of my favorite fighters but the refuse to utilize many kicks and just straight up box. That and they never take it to the ground unless they are put their.

Believe me, I myself used to criticize the Diaz bros because they refused to check kicks and had very poor kick awareness in general.

... But if you're going to make a scouting report for a fighter, the most relevant will be his last fight.

Based on this:

Conor does not really have a roundhouse low kick and never did, even if you look at his older fights.

Nate does know how to check low kicks. Re-watch TDs 2 and 3 vs Johnson - that was as good work checking lows as you'll see from anyone in the UFC (minus Hunt and a couple of other standouts).

So again: Conor using low kicks as a key tactic in this matchup is make-believe.

I never said Conor would use low kicks I don't think that's diazs kryptonite. I do think if Conor picks his shots instead of head hunting it will be a different fight
