Where's the racism? He's come out to say he loves popeyes and jones pokes eyes in his fights. What else am I missing? You CAN make a fried chicken and black person reference, but it would make any sense if there was irony (like the OP states) in it. People are reaching here.

Yes it is. He likes eating popeye all day long and in 24h he won't like eating eye pokes all day long. Granted, it's not the "Frank Beard example of irony" but still.
