I would say about an 8! :D I wish we could've seen Oliveira for more time in the Dariush fight, but he looked very good and I am interested to see how his approach is different for the Makhachev rematch. Let's see if he really "wasn't there" in the first fight with a far better performance in the second! Still expecting Makhachev to win but hopefully the best Charles shows up!

Also this trailer for the first fight still gets me excited for the rematch! :)

With how the first fight went, it doesn’t really make me excited to see a rematch so soon. There wasn’t much in that fight or in Oliveira’s recent performance that makes me think there will be a drastic difference. But it’s also two of the best in the game, so that’s always good. And shit definitely doesn’t always play out how we expect. So I’ll go right in the middle with a 5/10.

I think people wanted to see Islam defend the title against someone other than Charles for his first defence, but it’s still an interesting fight
7/10

6/10. Islam is a bad matchup for Oliveira because he’s not afraid of following to the ground after a knockdown. And he has the strength and top control to hurt him on the ground.

On top of all that, they are not fighting in neutral territory. This fight should have happened in Vegas.

Those who think there is a sure winner because of the first fight don't much understand MMA.

There are endless fights with very different rematches. Anyone who think Islam dominated that fight also is missing the picture.

Islam just fought on the road in Australia, alternating as the champion between on the road & a location with a "home" advantage (yes I know it's not really his home) is perfectly reasonable.

He's the only current Muslim champion in the UFC, of course he was going to headline this card.

I put 9 ... because, if anyone deserves a rematch, it's Charles.

Remember, he got screwed on the scale and lost his title by BS. If you will recall, one scale showed him being on weight — but the official scale was "different" — and there were several other fighters that were 1/2 pound overweight as well. The nasty smell of rotten fish can still be whiffed ...

Point is, Charles really should have had a couple of title defenses under his belt, which was unfair that he was deprived of this on his résumé and record.

Anyway, my head tells me Islam Makhachev will beat Charles Oliveira again, but my heart wants Charles to pull a miracle finish out of his hat.

And, if anyone is capable of "pulling a finish" out of his hat, it is Charles Oliveira. That's what makes this a dynamic fight, IMO.

Not really excited, don't see things going much differently TBH.

Also, the winner of Gaethje and Poirier deserve the fight more than Oliveria, despite Oliveria beating both fairly recently, as neither of those guys have fought Makhachev yet. And no you can't just say the Khabib fight shows what will happen, Makhachev is much more vulnerable to heavy firepower than Khabib was.

In all that, I'm really not sure who Oliveria should fight though Fiziev would be entertaining.

I'd be slightly more hyped if Olivera weren't likely to be a lot less than 100%. That being said I'm not sure he's got much for Islam based on the first go around. If Charles pulls it off it will be an absolutely stunning upset though and I'll be incredibly pleased for him.

Given Oliveira's recent performance and the lack of availability of other challengers, this is the fight to make. Given how this matchup went the first time, this is not a fight to anticipate great or even interesting things from. 3, maybe 4.

Voted 5. It would be a 7 if it wasn't abu dhabi. As a charles fan, Abu Dhabi sucks for him. And no, I'm not talking about conspiracy theories -- he just looked beat before he even entered the cage. You could see it in his eyes as he walked out.

I'm not saying he'd win elsewhere, but as a charles fan I'd rather all the odds be stacked in his favor and Abu Dhabi is the opposite of that.

Oliveira burnt himself out in the hot Abu Dhabi sun walking that lion around during fight week

Charles may have been submitted in their previous scrap, but the guy is so absolutely head and shoulders above everyone else that i'm curious to see how he adjusts.

Maybe he gets submitted again, maybe he puts Islam's lights out. Who knows? But i wanna see it.
