How hilarious would it be if McGregor lost every fight outside of 145 but...

Jumping weight classes is a big deal, especially for the lighter weight classes. A difference of 10 pounds can mean a lot.

Then you have Rumble, who enjoys knocking fools out from welterweight to heavyweight.

Fw to lw is the smallest jump in mma.

It's still pretty incredible to me that he even became champion. The most ridiculous hype train of all time & it didn't get derailed on the way there... You can still argue it hasn't been derailed despite the loss.

I agree that it hasnt. He and theUFC hyped conor up to the millionth degree, but they still couldnt get in there and do it for him. He had to survive some crazy situations, and lets face it,he was bashing nate diaz around for alot of the first. So,to me,i really like him alot, and he still has alot of things ahead of him. I think it does say alot that he was up for fighting nate again at 170 and not just taking his millions and going away, like udders have done.

He did become a dominant champ at 145.

Dominant champ means you defend said championship....

The man is obviously skilled. Fighting in another weight class is pointless.

Hopefully he goes back to 145 after his next fight regardless of outcome.

I agree with your last two sentences. I also hope he goes back down but there is no defined definition for dominant champ that requires them to defend it. Conor has been dominant and he is the champion.

Although i agree with your sentiment that defending it successfully means it more.

Even the people who boo conor secretly gotta like watching him. His style is awesome.

Some awesome fights at 145 for him. Although one guy is going to be MIA for a few years.

Not half as funny as if he were to lose every single fight he has in the future.

He's not going back to FW. There are probably a few LW he could beat though.

Well he's the champ and he's been dominant. So....Yes.
But as the champ he's got one fight...how'd that go?

Let it go...he's not a dominant champ (yet). That may change in a couple years or he may lose the Aldo rematch...

That fight was 2 weight classes up so irrelevant.

Conor haters wouldn't criticise anyone else who's career consisted of wiping out all opponents in one division, including the p4p #1 along the way.

People will use it as a reason why weightclass exists.

hilarious? that's normal. guys drop down in weight class all the time and find success and in some cases even go up, Rumble is the perfect example. sucked at 170, couldn't even make 185, but is one of the best at 205.

Are you high?

He's Been a dominant fighter/contender

He's not a dominant champion (yet) as he hasn't defended the belt

He's been dominant and is a champion. Defending the belt has nothing to do with the description.

Exactly, thank you! that fool seems to think conor being dominant in his rise entitles him to be called a "dominant champ"

He doesn't grasp that concept of needing to defend the title (several times) to be dominant as a champ lol
