I don't really know where to start this thread and the f2 is in full retard mode ATM, so I'll do it here.
I have started training when I was 17, now I'm 25. During this time, my preferences and interests have changed a lot. When I started, I was interested in self-defense, realistic fighting and learning a lot of different techniques. Now I'm mostly interested in combat sport as a competitive game, developing athleticism and I like to keep the number of techniques down, because it's a hassle to maintain good form when you have to split up limited training time between punching, kicking, throwing, subs, etc. Also blood and busted up faces don't have quite as much appeal to me anymore as they used to.
I'm curious if some of you guys have experienced the same. Or maybe the exact opposite.

I forgot, I came to strongly dislike colored belt hierarchies and people pretending to be Asian.
