He wanted nothing to do with 185 when Anderson was knocking people out up there. When he started his comeback bid, he was first interested in a fight with a paper champion from 2 weight classes below, with a suspect ground game. Now that the (notwithstanding this last fight with Rockhold's suspect chin) famously pillow-fisted Bisping wears the 185 strap, GSP is interested in him.

It is a true testament to Robbie's power that GSP has been scared right out of his natural weight class.

I would rather see Bisping knocked out by Hendo than decisioned by Lay 'n Pray GSP. Dude can stay retired if all he is going to do is pick favourable style matches while exposing himself to minimum danger. It just isn't interesting.

He's not fighting Bisping at 185 either, you'll see.

He also explained why Anderson is not an option.

Plus, GSP would 50-45 Lawler.

Anderson v Fedor at LHW is a good fight imo

I wouldn't mind seeing GSP v Hendricks again. Would be a great night for Johny to find his power again

TS pulling out the lies and old wives tales. I'd be embarrassed if I had to make shit up or outright lie to post on a message board.

I'm guessing you live in a van...Down by the river.

You’d think, wouldn’t you? I’m embarrassed for him, not sure why.

GSP has clearly said he’s open to fighting Lawler. And he NEVER said he wanted to fight McGregor.

GSP also retired right as the UFC introduced USADA testing. Go figure.

I don't know why people have issues with anything GSP says/does regarding his comeback. The man ruled the WW division for years and is the best WW we've ever seen thus far. It's just now he's reached a point in his career where it seems only big money fights interest him. Seems reasonable to me.

Lotta GSP hate going here.

Best WW that ever fought.

Some people forget how good the guy really was.

yes, totally agreed. he can do what he wants and a whole lot of people will love it. i'm just pointing out that he is hand picking favourable style match ups that offer maximum reward for minimum risk.

GSP dominated welterweight for 7 years going 12-0 and cementing his status as one of the sport's all time greats. He literally fought everyone and anyone that was put in front of him. GSP never picked his fights. He fought everyone in his division as champion. Anderson was middleweight champion and constantly called out GSP. Anderson calling out the champion in the division below him is overlooked by the haters as if it didn't happen. You never heard GSP call out Ben Henderson or Frankie Edgar did you? Anderson wanted no part of Jon Jones and this is constantly ignored. Ridiculous.

If GSP comes back he always stated he wanted fights that interested him and he wanted to do it for the love of the sport. Winning the welterweight title puts him right back where he was before he retired. A champion who has no control over opponents and will continue having to fight whoever is put in front of him. I think St. Pierre has earned the right to take fights he finds interesting instead of running the gauntlet at 170 again.

As a final note, GSP has been hated on for not moving to middleweight in the past, and now for wanting to fight at 185 and not coming back to the division he dominated for nearly a decade. A division that has been pretty wide open since he retired, and a division whose champion was a fringe welterweight just 4 years ago. Think about it.

GSP waz pretty clear on his latest Ariel interview how he is going to choose his next opponent.

GSP may be the best at winning in but the guy blows. Boring fights, boring personality and yes he does pick his fights. He never went up in weight after getting the belt and left the mma scene like a scarred kid when after the fight with Johny and the USADA testing came about. He's definitely a great athlete but by no means a warrior. No one wants him to come back except the fan boys, the UFC and the Canadian economy

lol he's ducking Anderson Silva but handpicking the guy that just beat Silva's ass?

The logic of Sherdog is astounding at times. Don't hurt yourself with those math solving problems on the back of scratch and wins from your local gas stations.
