His 2nd title defense came against HW Journeyman Jeff Monson.. One of the fights Monson had to earn a TS was against Marcio Cruz who was 2-0 at the time..

And the Monson fight was easily one of the worst title defenses of all time..

HW was really bad in the UFC back then.. It was better in Pride but even some of their guys like CC showed to be overrated..

Why just mentioning Monson out of the many key fights he had. Monson who btw went to finish Fujita in Pride in his very next fight.

Anyways, whatever you think about Monson and how good Sylvia looked beating him, based in the list of all-time greatest HW's ever you delivered, Sylvia is fringe top5 HW from the '00s
 
He was ok. He had a pretty good right cross when he'd let it go. Not an all timer or anything, but was decentish and used his size pretty well.
 
Good enough to win the UFC HW championship and defend it a few times fair and square.
