How good was Lee Murray?

well that took 1 second to find...

Hilarious with the fighter stats superimposed at the beginning showing Murray at 6'2 while the "5'11" Anderson Silva is obviously just as tall or taller. See kids? The UFC wasn't the only ones who do that shit?

If he trained as much as top mma fighters and dedicated his life to it there is a good chance that he would have been great but he had much larger ambitions

Phil and Lee were actually supposed to fight at ufc 48, then ufc 51, but Lee had visa issues for assaulting a man during a traffic accident, so pete sell filled in for Lee and ended up beating Phil after getting dominated most of the fight.

Phil had scary power back then, so did lee. Would have been a bomb fest if they would have fought.

That's cool. Didn't know that, but I always thought Phil baroni was scheduled to fight Robbie lawler originally and he pulled out leading to the Pete sell fight

The only ones that do what shit? Allow height cutting? We saw it in the UFC but that shit was RAMPANT in smaller orgs, there's only so much testing/measuring you can do in that amount of time leading up to a fight. Carwin gets a lot of attention for his height cutting but don't kid yourself and think Spider wasn't using it. Heck, it's rumored that BJ cut massive height against Machida but shills always shout that one down. (Can't have a UFC HOF'er associated with that mess.)

Pretty damn good and more than that, the guy's got balls for days and a brain to match. Few in the world can pull off the biggest cash robbery in history. MMA fighters typically get arrested for hit & runs, wifey slaps, streaking in churches and falcon nut punches, they don't have the brains to plan this world class heist shit. All the props go to Lee Murray. Massive brawns and the brains to match.

Back in time one of his close friend was posting here and he was posting his crazy street fight adventures...As you guess they were hell of cool stuff

I may have mixed up my events. My fault.

Lee was supposed to fight baroni at ufc 48 and Pete sell did indeed fill in for lawler against baroni.

Lee had massive potential and apparently had hands of stone. Unfortunately, he fucking blew it all.

There used to be an almost cult like worship of him on here.

Murray was a street thug with okay skills and very fast hands.

What a smart man, nothing like living your life in a Moroccan prison. Genius

He was a loudmouth who's claim to fame was a questionable tale of KOing Tito in a street fight.

Decent fighter, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Bullshit!

No question that he did KO Ortiz. Chuck and Militch fighters are not bunch of liars and they both saw it in the same way. Meanwhile, Tito has two different stories:

1. In some interviews, Tito claims that he was wearing "dress shoes" which made him slip going for a takedown when Lee and him squared up to fight.

2. In other interviews, Tito claims that he was breaking up a street fight and out of nowhere he got sucker punched by Lee completely unexpected.

So which is it? Did he engage with Lee and end up slipping on a takedown? Or did he get sucker punched trying to get his friends out of a brawl?

Seems like Tito likes to change his stories depending on his mood and emotions while everyone else seem to have a consistent memory of what happened between Lee and Ortiz.

IMO, had Lee Murray made a run at the UFC [And let's pretend 1.) Anderson Silva didn't exist and 2.) He didn't live out a Hollywood criminal lifestyle] he would have beaten Franklin for the belt.

Lee Murray is Michael Bisping 2.0. He has better stand-up than Rockhold and a surprisingly solid ground game. He would have racked up some solid signature wins, had his life stayed on the straight and narrow.
