Cant deny his obvious natural ability but also can't deny the probable PED use throughout his career. What was his success a result of, superior natural talent or drug use?
In other words, would Jones have been champion without PEDS, and would he have beaten DC?

Would still be champion, but maybe not have amazing cardio like he showed against Cormier.

really good. but i always thought GSP and Fedor skillwise were better all around and more of a threat. Jones i could not see beating big guys like overeem, stipe, cain, jds, or ngannou. he could beat brock though brock can only takedown and is afraid be hit. I bet he also destroys Mir. by the way I think Fedor gets slept by jds, stipe and all those guys to.

i have never seen a mighty mouse fight but way people talk about him he may be better than jones for p4p but he in a midget weak division sadly.

The reality is that we'll never know, because he used PEDs.

Better than most.

How many here think Jones could have beaten a prime Tim Sylvia?

For real, does anyone think Jones could have beaten Timmy??

The GOAT IMO. But he fucked it up and let us all down. His reign and wide range of skills is unmatched

Average fighter at best...

...Sherdog would like you too believe

everytime he came up against fighters his age, it was abit of struggle to win, still won but its interesting to note...

or fighters physically the same size.

makes me think most of his dominance was due to age and his enormous physicall advantage, but he never struggled to make 205 so prob doesnt mean much...

I do. Brandon Vera almost beat Prime Sylvia. Jones definitely would.

I could probably take him

I think probably the most talented fighter period. At the very least he goes up there in rarified air with guys like Mighty Mouse and Khabib.

It's not like he simply overpowers people. He has a ridiculous infighting game that complements his lanky limbs and the guy's instincts are unreal.

I know he's a really stupid person just in general intelligence, but in fighting intelligence he's Albert fucking Einstein.

A level playing field is just that. Jon is/was a rare talent.

Dude is very talented but part of what made him so scary was how freaky strong he was for his long frame. Take that away and probably so e cardio too and he'd probably be a solid top 10 guy. Instead, hes a shithead.

Beat up a lot of old guys.

Poked numerous eyeballs.

Did a lot of blow.

Did a lot of PEDs.

Lied a bit and cried a bit.

Jon Bones Jones.

PED's or not........he is the best we've seen. I'm not even that big of a fan but he is on another level. The people that claim that because of the PED issue it somehow diminishes his legacy, this isn't baseball. The reason steroids ruined baseball is because it's a sport built on all time statistics. Suddenly, in the 90's records started getting smashed and it took away from the nostalgia of the sport......even though every major star in that era besides Ken Griffey Jr. was juicing. More than likely a majority of Jones' opponents were juicing too.....just the era that it was but without the nostalgia and tradition of stats like baseball.
