I have to be honest, there was a time when I expected demetrious johnson and joseph benavidez to have to fight ten times, because I thought the division was so shallow.

Now look, we've got a solid #1 contender fight between lineker and bagautinov, solid and relevant vets in dodson, moraga, formiga, mccall, fighters recently dropping to 125 including brad pickett and makovsky, and then the new blood in scoggins, sampo, horiguchi, and smolka.

All said, I'm very excited with how the 125 division has progressed, and I can honestly say I have no idea who will be champion 2 years from now.

Lineker isn't really a 125er, but other than that it's coming good. I expect pickett to do well

A lot better than it gets credit for. I'll also add Montague to your list.

Justin Scoggins will be champion 2 years from now.

I personally think the division is a bit shallow, but like everything else the Fly weight will even itself out in the future. There are 4 or 5 guys who are miles above everybody else, and this is attractive to up and comers in the 140-150 range.

It wouldn't surprise me if in 2 or 3 years the division is stacked because of this, it's supply and demand.

Also very curious to see how pickett does against McCall, it's an important fight for the entire division.

There's great talent down the roster, Alp was considered a top 10 or 15 guy and gets beaten by some Hawaiian kid.

And they are quite young, the youngest ranked fighter group in the UFC if I'm correct.

I don't know why people ever freaked out about the division being shallow. Any division will look weak when it's just starting out. Nobody has had any chance to put together a win streak or make a name for themselves.

Now that the division has been around for a while we're starting to see some real progression. It's already more solid than it gets credit for, but in another couple of years I think it'll be really strong based on how well its developed so far and the amount of talent that it already has.

Agreed. I predict this division to be a powerhouse in a couple of years.

It needs more depth, but the top guys are excellent.
The top two were contenders one division higher too.

I, still think it is a shallow division but I like most of the fighters , they always show up to fight and put on exciting fights

I still think it's shallow simply due to a lack of fighters. The ones they have are very talented but the pool is shallow in general. It's still a new division though.

Some of the fighters are decent. Even the best of that division wouldn't stand much of a chance against the top 135 or 145 lbers....and especially not against MW and up. So they are okay for what they are.

Justin Scoggins
John Lineker
Louis Smolka
kyoji horiguchi
Ali Bagautinov

The division has some of the best young talent in the UFC, its future is pretty bright I'd say
