I've heard he's BJJ black belt. Someone once implied his grappling is better than BJJ black belt 3rd-degree practitioner in Thiago Tavares. Jose Aldo is primarily a striker. So I doubt he has that offensive aspect of BJJ ready to use like real grapplers do.(Brian Ortega, Thiago Tavares) By looking at just BJJ skills, How is his BJJ compared to that of Brian Ortega and Thiago Tavares? Edit: Spoiler: Conclusion Jose Aldo is good enough to defend himself against these two BJJ specialists on the ground. Because he was three times BJJ world champ himself in the past, he won't get submitted on the ground. However, I still doubt he will dominate them either because he was BJJ practitioner a decade ago.
