Thought i'd make a thread about something other than Ronda, Holms or how depressed Dana is...

...Soo in light of yesterday, there was a lot of interest going into this fight, with a lot of fresh hype due to Uriah finishing Moose in spectacular fashion and with Roberts brutal finishes since he's been at middleweight.

I enjoyed the fight and thought Robert fought a good gameplan but he left himself open a few times and got caught with some bombs, he did however redeem his chin since the stephen thompson fight, and has showed he is a very game opponent for anyone in the division.

Soo sherbros how far do you think Robert can make it up the ladder and who do you think he should fight next??

I'm interested in a fight with anyone of these lions - Vitor, winner of elias/thiago santos or rebook the bisping fight if he's up for it.

He'll be the Tony Ferguson of 185.

Never ever in a boring fight but unable to get past gatekeeper status.

The Bisping fight would make most sense now for Whittaker, for Bisping too if he doesn't get the Belfort rematch. The could headline the London card.

I could see him becoming a poor man's Kiyoshi Tamura at some point

Whittaker looks good, man. Excited to see him fight the higher ups. I think he would have KO'd Bisping... Wonder if they'll try & remake it.

At the moment he just beat Uriah Hall, he is 24 and always improving. If he keeps focused... maybe to a title fight someday. I like the guy, very entertaining.

he's going to have to join a real camp in order to get to the upper echelon of middleweights....

I'm really impressed with his progress. He looked great last night

I think if he is working around the clock on grappling defense and keeping the fight standing and sharpening his striking technique further than it is totally conceivable that he could crack the top 5 or even contend for the title.

Not predicting that he will by any means. But this has really, really been the year that has shown us how moronic it is to count anybody out.

He is very young so I think there still time for him to improove more

I think it's safe to say his next fight will definitely be up against a top 10 opponent. It's obvious Dana is aware of his potential, the matchmakers certainly would be as well. Can't wait to see him tear it up in the MW division

Should go back to WW if he wants a realistic chance at fighting for a title.

Ferguson is 9-1 in the UFC on a 6 fight win streak... so how has he proven that he can't get past gatekeeper status?

He hasn't. This is the thread where we guess how far someone will go. I just threw in two for the price of one.

I really liked watching him fight. I've never seen him before, but I like his style.

He can be a top 10 guy for sure, but I don't see him beating guys like Jacare, Weidman, Rockhold, Romero. Basically the top 5. I'd like to see him against Brunson before Bisping because it makes more sense ranking wise and is good stylystically to test him.
