He looked good against Noke. Yes he had some controversial fights in the past, but I think he's improved and could make something of himself in the WW division. He still seems to have his chin and punching power at least.

Who should he fight? How high in the rankings do you see him going?

I think Anderson should give him another shot, he was doing well up until the injury.

I'd like to see him fight a fellow vet like Mike Pyle, should be a good scrap. But I wouldn't mind seeing him tested by someone like Alves.

Cote's next fight should be against Brandon Thatch, he's 11-1 only loss is a SD earlier in his career. Last fight he beat Paulo Thiago.

Cote & Thatch are similarly ranked between 25-35 at WW. Cote will likely beat Thatch but also proves he can win a dangerous fight. Afterward give Cote someone higher ranked. Like Kampmann after Kampmann wins his next fight or if he doesn't fight at all until then.

That will push Cote into top 15ish realm if he beats Kampmann. From there give him a top 10, Cote still has a somewhat decent name and from my understanding he's very popular in Canada and has an okay following in the US.

Assuming he wins against Thatch (which I think he would) and a coin toss against Kampmann. He will quickly be dispatched by any current top 10 WW.

    - Condit would TKO him with his range and kicks, or get Cote rocked and get a submission.
    - Lawler would KO him when he closes the distance, eats a few shots and lays Cote out.
    - Lombard would rag doll Cote to a decision.
    - Rory would wrestle him to a decision.
    - Woodley would either take him out in the first with a blitz or break him so badly in the first he's able to coast to a safe decision.
    - Hendricks would KO Cote in the first minute, or break his hand again and wrestle him to a decision.
    - Stungun would wrestle Cote to a decision.

I dunno even know about Matt Brown. I don't know what to say about that guy. He's doing awesome when he really shouldn't be lol. A solid wrestler is going to expose Matt Brown imo. Get everyone outta lala land from all the hype.

I like him, but I don't see him really going anywhere. He's iron chinned though, so he can provide some entertaining scraps.

depends on how high he gets, that will determine how far he falls.

I suspect a light thud followed by a whimper.

seriously though i like Cote, but he looks slower than he did in his first UFC run. He also seems to have gotten weaker punches. More well rounded though so gatekeeper to the mid-level fighters for now. I think it all depends on who he draws as opponents.
