How far are Mir and Big Nog from the title shot?

I think a dominant victory over Werdum would be a big push for Big Nog. Now if Mir defeats Cormier then we would have the number 6 & 7 defeating the 4&5 of the division.
It is certainly not impossible. I believe Big Nog deserves the title shot before Mir because the latter was KO

Mir has had two chances. I mean, I know there's a different champion in Cain now but he really has to get some solid wins over Bigfoot, Overeem, or anyone top five.

Nog isn't getting a title shot ever again sadly.

about 3-5 years and a Delorean...

Mir too small for heavyweight of today, and has had two chances already. Nog was great but I doubt he can become a threat to the elite at this point.

IMO nog will Knock werdum in late 3rd round and after that another win will secure him the Shot at the HW title.

Mir just needs to brake a couple of limbs and he can be a legit contender

There are guys that will never be champ again. At hw i see Nog and Mir having few more fights and retiring. If Mir gets to fight Cormier, he's scheduled to get a brutal beating. There is no way for him to get a title at this point. Same at lhw, nobody is beating Jon Jones, and by the time he decides to move up in weight guys like Machida and Rashad will be in their mid 30's. They rely a lot on speed and they will have to take on guys that will have 5-7 years less(like gustaffson for example).

kinda harsh, but they are very far from getting a title shot. unless some weird scenarios happen. i just see them having 3-5 matches are retire...

Mir is deservedly closer since has has beaten Nog twice, but I don't see either of them winning their next fight. I think Mir-Cain would actually be an intriguing matchup but I don't see Mir beating Cormier. Even if he did he'd likely be looking at one more win before a title shot, and I'm not sure he beats any of the top 5.

I don't think either are THAT close.. They both could get a shot if there is a fight scheduled and someone gets injured. But I don't see either of them getting a shot a s1st choice any more... that said.. If Nog beats Werdum and somehow pulls something out against someone like Carwin... who knows?

Can't see how a Mir title shot is all that marketable anymore

Y do u want to see Minotauro get euthanized by Cain? The guy belongs nowhere near a title shot. It would be painful to watch. Cain getting a one-punch KO is the most merciful way that fight could end.

Nog is way past his prime and Werdum is currently peaking. I will root for Nog but realistically see Werdum taking this one. Winner of that fight should get the winner of Mir vs. Cormier, while the losers face each other. Imagine the match making possibilities.

I don't see Big Nog making another run, but you can't question his heart.

261lb @ 6 ft 3 in...2 inches and 20lb+ on the current heavyweight champ. He is if not one of the bigger heavyweights in the division. What the hell are you talking about to small ?!

Yeah this, got to love him. And he hasn't (as far as I recall) strung together too many losses either. He might drop one or two then win again, hasn't fallen too far down the line. Credit to him, his chin seems gone and there's a whole new generation of fighters but he's still hanging in there.
