How does Patrick Cummins draw Glover for his next fight? Can someone explain?

An ex-chronically overweight Welterweight somehow draws Glover after getting knocked out by St. Preux, whom Glover just finished at the last event.

How does this make sense?

Lol

Just like how arlovski draws Mir.

Bad matchmaking.

It doesn't make much sense, in that regard, but Cummins is a very capable fighter,.capable of beating both OSP and Glover. It doesn't do much for.Glover, except offer a chance for a bit of redemption for his Davis loss. Again, not ideal... but ive seen worse. Cummins is a dangerous qrestler.

Joe Silva has done it again

UFC matchmaking is the most evolved and at the highest level in the history of MMA and definitely doesn't add to the UFC's current standing as a pseudosport

You have to be pretty brain dead to not make Glover vs Rumble/Manuwa winner for that card instead.

Cummins is ranked 10th by the UFC, I believe. He also has good enough wrestling to decision Glover. It makes sense because Glover has had some trouble with strong wrestlers.

It's not like they're giving him to the champ. Bruh! C'mon bruh! It's actually not that bad a fight at all.

It's perfect match-making.

#1 - Glover wins and is close to a title shot "Re-built Contender" (last run in him before Bellator)

#2 - Cummins beats Glover and "New Contender" (Glover off to Bellator, Cummins gets 3-5 more fights before being cut).

Cummins used to be a welterweight?

PS TS, I totes agree with you and was thinking the same thing.

LHW is that weak that Cummins gets Teixeira. Though how hard would it be to make Rumble/Tex? Or is Rumble already signed to fight someone besides fat chicks at the gym?

Because Cummins will do better than you think. I don't think he'll win but he's tough, has good wrestling and has some finishing power.

UFC's matchmaking has been utterly ridiculous lately, especially this year, so this is par for the course for them

He's not getting any younger and has a decent chance against anyone who's wrestling isn't up to par. i think if they leave it much longer he'll be reaching his peak in competition wise WAY after his physical prime. If he doesn't win, he'll get much smaller names in the future

Rumble is fighting Manuwa on Sept. 5th.

This card isn't until Nov. 7th. The Rumble/Manuwa winner could have faced Teixeira, it really wouldn't be a very quick turnaround.

Oh right, completely forgot about that, probably because it also doesn't make much sense. How does Rumble come off a title fight and have to fight the #7 guy? Rumble should fight Tex and Manuwa should fight OSP or some other #6-15 guy like Cummins.

Creates a new contender no matter who wins. Who else is on at least a 2 fight streak in the top 10?

Seems like a massacre, but they don't have that much to work with and Glover hasn't found DC or Alex yet.
