How does early Sunday cards affect viewership?

I have seen this excuse being thrown around a lot... That this weekends card could have done better ratings if it wasnt aired when it was.

What?

I mean... what the fuck do you have to do on a sunday morning/afternoon that prevents you from watching TV?

This makes no sense.

You could say that for live event gates, but turning the TV on while you are at home? ITs sunday morning/afternoon for fucks sake. If you dont have free time then, you probably never do.

Id say saturday night, even if you have "free time" you have other options like go to a party, movies, strip club, gambling, what ever....

Sunday morning/afternoon there is usually nothing else going on.
 
Obviously has no friends, social life or family to ask such a stupid question, weekend nights are a get together with friends, have booze etc and gear up for a fight, Sunday morning are family time, if anything people will record it to watch later.

But what friends or social life you are going out for on SUNDAY FUCKING MORNING?
 
The average person doesn't even think about sport on Sundays, unless it's Football season.
 
It wasn't just a Sunday. It was Sunday of Memorial day weekend. People are traveling, camping, going out to bars, the beach, lake, whatever. It's also one of the first weekends with nice weather in many parts of the country.

But on a regular Sunday... id say i have more shit to do on a saturday night than the following day more often than not.

I agree. My ideal fight time is actually Sunday night.
 
Sunday is great because there's literally nothing else worth watching on live tv at the time and people are at home.

The only negative is that's a lot of people's full day off and they'd probably plan to do something worth while
 
the ratings would be fine for that time-slot, if people were accustomed to viewing ppv's for that day/time. i honestly forgot that the ppv was at that time lol. had to watch the fights after the fact because i forgot. if you do them always at that time, i don't think the ratings would differ much. people go out of their way to watch nfl games during that time. a lot more people. so that should answer it for you.

It's spring and a long weekend.

Not everyone is going stay at home like the average Sherbro.
 
I was running errands that Sunday morning actually. Had to get some dude wipes as I was running low. I did get back home in time to watch the main event tho
 
Must increase for the East Coast, USA. Everyone I know never makes it to 1 a.m. to watch the main event so they never watch at all
 
So the ufc should keep making shit cards with one decent fight cause its on Sunday?
 
Make all the excuses you want but if McGreGoat was main event fighting raging Al La quinta it would have sold over 2 million on ppv Sunday morning you bums.
 
Its fucking Sunday morning. The kids are awake, lots of ppl go to church and you know your wife is gonna fill that day up with family shit. If your worth your salt as a dad you do it. Sat night is perfect.
 
All the results were posted here before it came on TV. Didn't bother watching
