How do you think Nick Diaz would have done against Silva's former competition?

When I think if this fight I actually think it might be a little competitive just because its basically going to be an mma boxing match. But then I remember that Silva has taken out guys like Vitor Belfort, Prime Dan Henderson, Forrest Griffin, Stephan Bonner, and then all of a sudden I have a hard time believing that nick would beat any of those guys let alone the guy that destroyed all of them. But I could be wrong.

    Your thoughts?

  2. It's hard to say. Dan Henderson went on to get grapple-fucked by Jake Shields but managed to KO Fedor so MMA math doesn't work too well here. Forrest and Stephan seem a bit large for Nick but then again, they were 205 lbers. Vitor would kill him though.

I actually wish it was diaz in there with leites when I was at ufc 97.

I was in the 4th row back from the cage, had just watched shogun finish chuck and sat through 5 rounds of one of the worst fights ever and the worst thing Ive ever seen live.

Nick isn't a MW so I don't see it as logical to compare them especially when Silva has taken fights at 205

pretty much this, take into account that Silva generally dodges most of the punches thrown at him, he doesn't do so well when they connect, Diaz will be in his face the whole time. I think this fight could be interesting

Listen...Idk, how he would have done against that list.....but I do know one thing... He'll put on a better show vs Anderson.....Then Stephan Bonnar did.

every mma fan should give Diaz mad respect for going up in weight to fight arguably the pound for pound fighter in the world. That being said no one really knows how he would do because its brand new shit.

For the most part he does ok but he's to small for 185. I hope he can take the heat in this fight tho.

Unfortunately Silva is no long the P4P best fighter in the world anymore. He is still no doubt a very dangerous opponent though, and I fully expect Silva to win, I just think Silva has lost a small step, and JBJ and GSP are ahead of him.

Correct. Only UFC guys I can see him having good chances against are Leben and Cote.

Obviously its MMA and crazy shit can happen, but he's a underdog to everyone else.

Nick will be the only guy I can remember who will be fighting arguably his 5th opponent who was a p4p #1 opponent at some point. Bj Penn, GSP, Gomi, Sakurai, and now Anderson. His record against these guys is 3-1 even though they are no where near Andy I think this is a pretty cool fact none the less.

It's hard to imagine Nick fighting the guys Anderson has already beat since there is a massive size gap in opponents though.

I just can't see Diaz winning this fight.. seems like a mismatch designed to ease Silva back into competition

Gsp(Lost), Condit(Arguarbly won or lost), Lawler(only man to KO robbie), Paul Daley(only man to KO Daley), Arguably beat or lost to Sanchez, Arguably beat Sean Sherk. Not too bad of a record all things considered when looking at his WW run in the UFC/SF.
